Nice Job!

It is 1965 and the US ground war in Vietnam is in full swing. As a US Army commander, wage a counter-insurgency (COIN) war to secure the Ia Drang valley, on the border with Cambodia.

Nice Job!

I am not usually one for tablet ports, as I tend to like more complexity, but I have to say, the "feel" of this game is just about right. Had some tense moments in my first two "standard" games, though I pulled out a decisive each time. On to "Veteran," I guess. It is nerve-wrack watching my infantry walk off into the jungle hoping to find and fix the enemy without getting killed. Flying the helo sorties over unknown territory when required also gives one a grim feeling (nice touch with having helo wrecks stay on the map; I found myself wanting to secure those areas, even though there was no strategic reason to.)

I'll add my voice to others regarding names for the Villes and units. Also would love a longer game with larger map. Already decided that I'm in for any expansions that come covering different periods, units, etc.

Great work!

Just finished my first "veteran" game. Totally different experience! I was behind practically from the get go, was in negative political support for several turns mid-game. I learned a valuable lesson about patrolling roads for mines after a damaged APC transporting a wounded infantry unit back to HQ was destroyed en route. That 2000 Pol. Supp. hit didn't help. I managed to pull out a victory with 52 H&M on the last turn by destroying an NVA base and clearing mines around my firebase. No screenshots this time, as I'll need to research taking and uploading. However, this game may inspire an AAR in the future...
