I'm getting the black screen and the unable to remove research issues in both tutorial AND main game. Again, on ipad mini with retina.
Yea I have the same problems running iPad mini with retina on iOS 8.1

Yes same problem here, tutorial was okay but playing the main game as USA I only get 1959 and the screen goes black after a season completes. I have an iPad air 1 ios 8.2. Completely repeatable once I have 3 research programs running, restarting iPad and resorting save does not work, not sure how this was missed in Beta.
Was really looking forward to playing this as well. Shame.
Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Hello all,
First of all, deep apologies for all these issues you're experiencing. We didn't come across them during the closed beta that we ran earlier this year, though I believe nearly all the volunteers had regular iPads and all your reports seem to be from iPad Airs/Minis. I use an iPad 3 for development, and never had any issues when running the tutorial or moving on to the following season, so I never imagined we were going to experience any problems.
In any case, Slitherine has ordered an iPad Air for me today, which will be arriving tomorrow and will allow me to test the game and reproduce all these issues you're getting.
Once again, apologies for all this. Hopefully I'll get it all sorted out soon.
Cheers,

Hi,
Ipad Air retina, here. Same issue. I do not know if this is pertinent or not, but the unrecoverBle black screen seemz to occur when the extended earth orbiter mission is in progress. Could be a coincidence, but happened to me three times now.
Another issue I have is that assigning SET tends to be a bit squirrely. Assigning a SET sometimes results in not being removed from the available list, while others disappear (from the visual list, the stats at the bottom still show SET not assigned). I can work around it by playing with the order in which I assign the program participants, but it is a bit of a pain.
Let me just say that from the bit I've played sofar this game is just too much fun. I hope you guys sort out the issues, because this has the potential to become an Ipad classic.

Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Yep this game could be epic once these bugs are sorted. Let me know if you need a beta test of the fixes on another ipad air.
Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Hello guys,
Once again, apologies for these issues. A quick update on the situation:
1) The issue with the SET assignment is now fixed. That was a funny one, because the problem only shows up on iDevices. I found a workaround by changing an area of the code. If you're interested in the details, check post #12 here.
2) My iPad Air arrived an hour ago. I ran the game, went through the tutorial and started noticing funny things, such as the game showing the 'Payloads Management' screen after buying the Jupiter-C rocket (it should be showing the rocket instead). I'll start digging on this and try to figure out what's going on.
Fun weekend ahead
I'll keep you guys posted.
Cheers,

Sorry about your spoilt weekend. Hope you find what is wrong before Monday comes around again. Good luck.
Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
I'll echo all the problems above, running on my iPad Air 2 running 8.1.2
Specifics posted in the bug thread. Glad to hear you're working on it, and good luck! Looking forward to this game...

Hello, can I join the test too ?Tamas wrote:Hi guys,
We would like to send you a test version of the game which would help us identify the issue with iPad Air. Please send your e-mail address to me in a private message here, and I will have you set up as soon as possible.
Thank you!

Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
I too would be interested in joining the test if possible. I could help validate if issues continue on a iPad mini Retina running OS 8.1.3
Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Hello guys,
Many thanks for your support and understanding.
A brief update on the situation: after getting erratic behaviours when testing the game on the iPad Mini (e.g., black screens, payloads being shown in the rocket management screen, etc), I noticed that all of them made use of a C# function named FindAll. I went to Unity's webpage and found out that there was a bug related to that function, which had been fixed in a patch 9 days ago (see patch 4.6.3p2 here). I downloaded the latest Unity patch, rebuilt the whole game, tested it on the iPad Mini and all the problems seem to be gone: I managed to run the whole tutorial, then launched the Explorer I mission and played a few more turns without experiencing any issues.
I'll keep testing the game today and tomorrow and send a new version to Slitherine by Monday morning so that they can decide what to do next. We'll keep you guys posted.

Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Great news! And thanks for the trouble you took to take care of this.
Just to confirm my earlier post: played the soviet campaign up untill day 2 of the extende sputnik 1 mission. After the update on r&d and the news the game wants to go into the mission screen, but I get a black screen. This one cannot be recoverd by hard closing the app and rstarting. Save game gives the exact same black screen at the exact same point.
Did that faulty function take care of this as well?

Hello Jayhead,
I believe the fix should handle the problem you're experiencing. But, just to be on the safe side, I'm sending you a PM in a couple of minutes so that we can arrange for you to send me the savefile and I can test it here.

Nacho84,
Thanks for your work on a weekend to fix this. I've very excited to see when the patched version of the game gets through App Store. The amount I could play before the bugs hit let me see the incredible potential the game has!

Fantastic how fatpst you are ! Can't wait !

Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Agreed - thanks for all your hard work on this Nacho84. I'm looking forward to the patched version!
Re: Space Program Manager is available on iPad!
Just to add to the reports already given here, I've had some pretty substantial buggy issues on my iPad Mini 1, none of which seem to be reported yet, so here they are. They all happened during a Soviet campaign.
1) I was not able to assign researchers to the Korabl-Sputnik 2 project after opening it; assigning "R&D Mission Components" took me to another open project (the Vostok Spacecraft project, if that matters).
2) I was doing the final PKA mission when a Tiger Team box popped up, with all three options costing $0. Hey not a bad deal! Unfortunately when you click on one of them,it tells you you can't afford it (?!). Including the option to do nothing. So, the game was essentially stuck at that point.
3) I worked around problem 2 by reloading the auto save and getting an instant result (the mission failed, FWIW ... and the odds were listed on the mission page as "NaN%"), but then I tried to schedule the mission again ... and my rockets were gone. I had researched 2 rockets in the early game up to max reliability, and there was no trace of them anywhere in the system, when assigning a booster. The only available booster shown was a low reliability project I had opened the turn before.
Needless to say, problem 3 was a game ender for me. Screenshots attached ...

Hello jim,
The bug in Unity was affecting the functionality of the game in several areas. I believe all the issues you're experiencing should be gone with the patch but, if you want to, please send me your savefiles and I'll test them here.

Outstanding effort Ignacio, I am sure everyone will agree and if you can all test this ASAP and let us know, it would be really helpful. Posting a review on Apple supporting Ignacio's dedication won't go amiss either
