Russian perfection

Post by romainpek »

Hi,

I upgraded my game to the latest version and immediately started a game as Central Powers.
I was quickly surprised by the nasty attacks the Russian delivered who kicked the Austrians, the Turks and even the German.

But I see that their stats are better than the German ones, every Russian infantry is 18 Def / 12 Ground attack when my Germans are just achieving 19/10 (level III) and they were 18/10 last turn (Level II)

However the Russian are supposed to still be at level I when viewing their units.

So is it a bug ? Or are Level I Russian supposed to be stronger than Level II Germans ?

or maybe it's just Brusilov? Shouldn't he appear later than 1914?

Germany researched Barbed wire, my units are sitting several turns, but they dont increase entrenchment lvl, they still use have basic (lvl 1) entrenchment.

Russian General Brusilov was active from the start off World War 1.

In July 1914, with the Russian army expanding during mobilisation, Brusilov was promoted to command the 8th Army, part of the Southwest Front operating in Galicia. The 8th Army crushed the Austro-Hungarian forces before it, and rapidly advanced

At the start of the game in 1914,German level 2 Infantry have a plus 4 Defence advantage over Russian level 1 Infantry, due to Germany having already researched Industrial Warfare. When they become available,Generals also have a positive effect on combat, as per their stats.

All units of equal tech level are exactly the same. There is no Master Race bonus for any country. The only thing that's different are the commanders. If a unit is under the influence of a specific commander, it will receive a bonus. So, if you as the CP player deploys Hindenburg to the Western Front and the Russian Player deploys Brussilow, a very capable commander, against them, the German infantry will fare poorly.
