Mid game oddness

Post by Critta »

I've seen something happen in a couple of games now and I'm entirely mystified as to what is happening.

First indication that is happening is that my generally pretty tight gravitonium production starts falling off heavily, I think I've just built too much so I cancel my production, it keeps dropping. I disband some fleets, it keeps dropping.

After some investigtion, on both occasions, my home planet resource output (for all resources) has gone into freefall and just keeps dropping with no indication that I can find of why this is occurring.

Can anyone suggest what might be happening and how I can stop it?

Not entirely sure here, but I've got the impression that mineral resources on planets are not endless. The amount you are mining seems to be slowly decreasing over time.

May be, but how i wrote early here (http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 00#p599722), production level (not only resources) decreases too.

Actually it's what happens your planets run dry of resources, thats why you must colonize all mineral planets possible within your empire borders and don't doubt to take those that are out aswell.

Fleet upkeep it's draining constantly resources of your stock so in the echonomics screen you can easy see how many it's the income of resources and what are the expenses, I always plan colonization of planets close to me and focus it's production on what's needed, at mid game you shouldn't have to much problem in doing that, even you can further speed up the development of them by bring more colonist from other more developed worlds so they have always people to man more infraestructures and build them withouth delay.

You have to find balance between how many worlds you have and how many ships you have, and in research worlds with minerals you should try build there some mines aswell coz it's good to have science points but wont hurt you have a couple of mines to boost your resource stock.
