patch 267 broke my game, screen is black and pop-up windows missing buttons

The only way I could fix it is to reload the 248 version and not install the winter war dlc the requires an update.

Any other way around this?

Install 267c and then install Winter War.
If you still get a black screen after, delete the "Settings" folder that can be found in the Windows documents folder at:
...\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2
Run the game and check if the issue persists.

Nope. Did not work.

I installed 267c patch and then started the game. It would not let me progress into the Single Player menu.

I installed Winter War same thing as before. I deleted the Settings folder, no change.


What can I do now?

Set the game in windowed mode before updating to 2.67c.

Is there a good way to roll back the patch? And it was in window mode before I installed the patch.

So...

I tried again. Window mode then install 267c patch.

Before I install Winter War, I click on Single Player in the main menu and nothing happens. All other options work.

I install Winter War and nothing changes. I cannot get into the Single Player menu. However, it appears there are no black screens and the proper buttons are now present. I just cannot get into the Single Player menu/map.

Please, another idea?

So this is the log from after clicking on singleplayer? I'm asking before the file gets overwritten every time you launch the game and there is not really anything in there indicating a game error.

Yes. I did it again. Attached.

It appears it has not written to the file since 8/10/2016.

After clicking singleplayer, is the game still responsive? Can you still click other options after?

Yes. All other "buttons" seem to work. The only thing wrong that I can tell right now is that when you click on single player, nothing happens.

In the <My Documents>\My games\order of Battle - WW2 folder, can you rename the SaveGames and Scenarios folders (or delete, but then better keep a backup of your saves first) and see if that helps?

EDIT: and the Campaigns folder if you have any custom campaigns installed

Uninstall the game and reinstall in a different folder than C:\Program Files (x86)... (like C:\Games\...).

Most porbably related with permissions in your Windows account and Program Files folder or maybe related with anti-virus or any security program (sometimes they are absurdly aggressive).
