Instructions- Download the zip file to your downloads folder.
Unzip the file.
Move the CEAW Grand Strategy-v400 application to Applications folder.
There is a font provided for the game use Font Book to install font.

IMPORTANT! Previous version games (v3.10 and earlier) can not be opened with CEAW-GS v4.00.

New games will need to be started.

New Range and Morale rules for Air and Naval units.

New Ground Units - Cavalry, Mountain, Motorised, and Russian Shock Troops.

Changes to the entire map. (i.e. New Resource and terrain hexes added)

Changes to Game, Commander, Weather, Research, XP rules.

Added Espionage rules concerning Enemy Research.

Country’s OOB’s and Convoy system updated.

Have found an idiosyncracy in the Mac version. Every turn since the Axis invaded Portugal the US keeps setting up airfields in the Azores. Seems to be stuck in some sort of loop.

The US is not activated yet so the units can not move until a direct DoW or when Pearl Harbor event happens.

In game terms Azores is managed by the US. So Azores is activated for Western Allies use.

We have often discussed what USA would do when different what-if's happened, but before Pearl Harbor they practised

strict neutrality. Even researching in the event of German soldiers landing in England there was no evidence on how the US would respond.

Unless you have secret documents that says otherwise please show them I would say they would fully activate, but I can find no contingency plans

to that effect.

I think the easiest is to just let it be since the message will disappear once USA join the Allies (if not then we need to look closer to it). One reason is that to ensure the message shows up only once then we need to store the event with a date and that means invalidating all existing save games. Germany attacking Portugal happens very very seldom so it might not be worth the effort fixing a cosmetic thing.

If the Azores message doesn't disappear regardless of situation then it's something else because the Allies are supposed to get the Azores at a fixed date in 1943 I think.

Forgot to mention it, but the message did disappear once Portugal surrendered.

Yeah, more a cosmetic issue than a problem.

Yes, go to Apple's support site - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204036

Download and install the java 6 version and see if the game runs. Then you can update to the latest version from Oracle.

The old GS v4.0 Version is incompatible with the current GS v4.0 beta Version so we decided to pull it.

We're closing in on the GS v4.0 final Version candidate and hope to post it in the open before Christmas.

What has taken time is to get some workaround for the MAC High Sierra OS. It didn't work with CEAW. We think we have a Version that Works, but need to test it properly first. That is one reason we've asked for more beta testers lately.
