LSSAH Campaign

Post by terminator »

First release of a scenario made in 4 hours this morning (no secondary objectives, no briefing...). This is a beta version. Adapted from a nikivdd's Panzer Corps scenario.

The correct emblem for the LSSAH should be this (not the Totenkopf) :

Dietrich (name of the commander) in German means - skeleton key, picklock

Have you considered that LSSAH was only an motorised infantry brigade during the Greek campaign?
There were no tanks, only anti-tank guns and Panzerjagers Mk.I tank destroyers. Maybe several StuGs...

Yes I know but the scenario must be playable (and I think that the majority of people do not know it). In this scenario , Waffen-SS is the major faction , Wehrmacht is minor faction for support (planes...).

Hi terminator,

played Patras at middle diff., again, sorry, too easy. (Work in progress?)

- you could add a few RPs for the Luftwaffe, 3-4 RP/turn maybe. The enemy fighter was mean  , I had not anticipated that in this mission (no AA) and had to take a few losses. Still no harm done, as the first attack on my Stuka (about 3HP each) rendered the fighter useless. But it was really nagging me at some point with the repeated attacks on my supply ships, I liked that. You know what, maybe keep it like it is, after all. :)
- you should move the AA at Patras a few hexes to the west to protect the airport & the 3 arty guns (and the whole city for that matter)
- the Patras VP should have a "static defense" unit, heavy inf. preferably
- it's okay to leave "Akteo" open for invasion, but you could add 1-2 inf. units near "Arachovitika" for a small flanking attack at some point, maybe
- the defense perimeter of Patras needs at least 2-3 more inf. units and a concealed AT-gun wouldn't hurt either, IMO. Did the Greek have some kind of tank unit at the time? If yes, you could add one of those, too.

Overall, like always, a very nice map with fast gameplay this time. Sometimes the most simple of primary objectives is the best one: "Take Patras" :) . Thanks. I'll attach a replay, if interested.

and played Pabianice v1.03 right after that. It's so cool to be able to discover new scenarios, still. :)

Wow, this one's great. Played it at middle diff. first, then at level 5 directly after that. Thanks, really liked the action in this one. Short (14 turns) and very intense. Especially the infantry counter-attack near "Rzgow" with the two exposed arty guns as bait had a great timing and caught me off-guard the first time. The Major Victory was still possible then - but the "shock & awe" effect of the Polish attack was great to dampen my overconfidence in my advance... :D

- sorry, but the word "sweet" comes into my mind with this one-screen-size of a map... :P
- as far as I could tell, all popups and objective events worked (even had my Zündapp damaged/destroyed once)
- nice setup and starting force, good RPs
- but why two AT-guns? :?: Disbanded one immediately at deployment. I'd really preferred to have one more infantry unit or some RPs instead.
- as text "objective2_2_3_award", you could use something like "If the Z.M. does not suffer more than 6 strength points damage, it can be redeployed in the next battle". But as mentioned, I'm not native English speaking myself, maybe someone else has a better idea

Do you have some kind of a plan to stitch these scenarios together to a whole new campaign at some point? And don't get me wrong, I really liked those scenarios, but I miss a core force to take care of, to be honest, and it seems you have enough scenarios for that.

I'll attach a replay of the level 5 run, if interested.
