Re: Not Derby! New Team Event in Hampshire 6th & 7th October
Well done Phil. Now that we have all of the runners and riders I can publish the first round draw which is as follows:
Oxford vs Not Plymouth
Not Oxford vs Solent
Gloucester vs MAWS
Wessex vs Reigate
The first game will start at 09.15 so please be at the venue by at least 09.00. There is plenty of free parking on site. Game 2 is at 13.00 and Game 3 at 16.30. On Sunday it’s the same start time 09.15 and Game 5 will be at 13.00. All game will be 3 hours and will end as soon as time is called.
I will be at the venue from 08.00 setting up the tables. If you are there early any help will be much appreciated. I’m going to lay on tea, coffee and biscuits – just £1 per day on a help yourself basis. We’ll get the kettle on as soon as we get there.
If you have any problems on the day you can reach me on 07770 333303.
If you’re not playing but you’re in the area and fancy stopping by you will be most welcome.

I see MAWS have disowned Mr Ruddock. Very wise.philqw78 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 4:35 pm Paul Westmore - Not Plymouth - Aztec

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that 10 minutes after giving them the key code to the house we've rented it seems I'm out of the team.grahambriggs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 5:48 pmI see MAWS have disowned Mr Ruddock. Also looks like David Bannister is forming a Winchester team on his own and has been slung out of Wessex. We need only one more player to form a rogue team to compete!!!

Re: Not Derby! New Team Event in Hampshire 6th & 7th October
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who attended the Forged in Battle Team Challenge at Sarisbury Green this weekend. Hope everyone got home safely. Thanks for everyone’s help in packing away after the event – it makes such a difference when everyone mucks in – willing hands really do make light work.
Another really big ‘Thank you!’ to Phil Powell for coming up with 3 entertaining themes and for checking the army lists for us. And of course also to our sponsors, Forged in Battle and Precision Wargames Supplies for providing us with some great prizes.
Congratulations to Reigate who came out on top, despite being given a battering by Not Oxford in the final round.
The final team positions:
Reigate 366
Solent 332
Not Oxford 325
MAWS 313
Not Plymouth 293
Gloucester 265
Wessex 188
Oxford 81
Individual Periods
Sticks n Stones
Dave Morrison 135
Graham Briggs 114
Dave Ruddock 112
David Bannister 105
Lynda Fairhurst 83
Paul Longmore 83
Paul Westmore 74
Phil Jelley 16
Nelly the Elephant
Terry Shaw 139
Phil Powell 116
David Fairhurst 108
Derek Bartlett 98
Dave Fairbrother 98
John Patrick 86
Renfrey Pearson 43
Bob Medcraft 30
Heavy Metal
Pete Dalby 151
Paul Bartlett 134
Steve Murton 123
Jon Akers 121
Ian Stewart ` 85
Peter Card 45
Dave Putt 44
Martyn Simpson 40
The top 2 teams were awarded trophies. Not Oxford received a selection pack of steel bases from Precision Wargames Supplies. Everyone who attended received a Forged in Battle discount voucher and the bottom 4 teams all received a consolation prize of a blister pack of Forged in Battle miniatures.
Our top prize of a Forged in Battle starter army was awarded randomly by dice throw and the lucky winner was Graham Briggs. A selection of photos will follow once I’ve had a chance to download them.
Hopefully Derby will be on again next year but if it’s not I’ll happily run this event again. And if Derby is back on I might look to offer something similar in the first weekend of December 2019 subject to your feedback.
All the best
