What's Area 51 All About?

Post by spedius01 »

Ave!

OK, I have to ask, seeing as no-one else has, what's Area 51 all about? What does SW and FA stand for? Are you going Sci-fi next?

They are upcoming projects. Until we have official names for them this is what they'll be known as. We were planning to use them for design discussions, but so far e-mail has proved good enough as the design teams are small enough right now. As more people get involved the forum will be used.

For "SW" I can't even venture a good guess, but "Fantasy Arena"?

SW.... Star Wars?

Not likely. Sword and Warriors? Storm and wanderer? :roll:

Ave Iain,

What does OWR stand for?

Is rbodleyscott my old friend Richard Bodley-Scott?

I haven't seen or spoken to him in years.

Please say hello to him for me?

Ave!

OWR = Other Worlds Reality?
OWR = Oriental Wars Rules?
OWR = Other Wargames Rules?
OWR = Our Wargames Rules?

Have you got any better suggestions?

What do you think?

Or it could be a code name for a game that they have yet to title but they are working on it. I don't know it might have to do with the game ideas subfora. That is the only possible meaning I can imagine. But there is a lot of traffic down there. (OWR)

Possum u crack me up, you actually think slitherine is going to make a game based on sex/romance?

It might be a good idea though since slitherine has a high standard of quality. Maybe slitherine could come up with a sims killer lol

Now HERE's a number of possibilities! Online Wars of Rome? Online War of the Roses? Olde Western Rodeos? One Way Ride? One Word Reply? Off World Resources? Our Wasted Retoric? and so on....

I didn't say that they were all serious.

I was thinking more like "Leisure Suit Larry's Mid-Life Crisis".

I mean, think about it, good ol' L.S. Larry would be pushing 50 by now (I know I am, LOL).

And the biggest thing of note about entering middle-age, for those of us who are still single (or single again), is the way the demographics turn around.

When I was in my 20's, single men far outnumbered single women, at least here in Southern California.

Now I am in my late 40's, it's the other way around. And, you know, I like it better this way :)

Here's some more possibilities.

OWR = Orc & Warrior RPG?
OWR = Orc & Warrior Rules?
OWR = Orc vs Warrior Rules?
