Great photos but don't quite hit the spot.
These ones pose an interesting question. As far as I know this photographers studio estate is privately owned and so the copyright is held by its owners. But they're all over the net. You can see from the source page that some people have tried to claim a degree of ownership by defacing it (the green lines). So either they own the rights to the original negative or they think owning one of many publicity copies gives them some kind of right, I don't know. We'd be on shakey ground.
Plus they're all well known, named Knightcross winners and we really want anonymous NCOs and the like.

Don't even go there!
What would be the sense of having your lowly Marder section finding themselves with a Hero that just happens to look like Adolf Hitler. Or even Patton?

Yes, I know that, it was supposed to be just a sample post, because I get the impression that some participants can't read with understandingPatrick Ward wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:24 pmGreat photos but don't quite hit the spot.

But in fact it's very interesting what you wrote about the copyright (I'm preparing some interesting, less-known commanders)

If push comes to shove I could probably buy a load off ebay but they'd all be German. The really difficult ones are the other nations. Thats where we'd really appreciate some help, especially from people outside of our own countries as you'll likely have access to different resources.
