I just noticed that the price on slitherine is so high that the steam is 20% lower than that even without pre-purchase. Why?

I've always said that Steam is the best. :D

I end up with GOG, they still allow -15%. The voucher for beta testers on steam store doesn't make sense as using the voucher, it's the same as the price on steam without pre-purchase.

In my region the price isn't lower now. And I didn't like GOG because they issued patches later than Steam. But it was in the past, maybe now they're doing it simultaneously.

Yep, even with the Beta testers coupon, it's cheaper just to buy it on steam. So what's the point of the Beta testers coupon??

In my region the Steam price is amazingly cheaper than the slitherine store, even with beta tester coupon. And I am talking of a 40% or even less!

Except for the price, (btw same price on Steam from what I have seen) GOG tends to be behind per updates.
Considering that Slitherine & Matrix, also, give you the install which allows playing without internet access (like GOG); PLUS you get a Steam Key if one prefers running Steam in the background.
My only complaint per Slitherine/Matrix is the slow speed of those 2gb updates. :)

Yeah in Australia the price for the Field Marshall edition is about the same on Steam as with my Beta tester discount. I wonder if this has more to do with exchange rates or Steam discounting to get the sale? Given the Aussie dollar has plummeted against the US dollar over the past few weeks (thanks Covid-19!), I suspect I could have saved more by buying in the pre-order, but then would not have had the chance to play the last versions of the beta. The choices we make!
