After a marathon march chasing cavalry all over the field the Polish damaged the Arabs enough with 2 turns to go.

Weekly round-up
A massive win for Geffalrus (Macedonian) against Nosy_Rat (Roman) this week leaves 3 players locked at the top of Division A on 24 points with harveylh (Roman) having 3 games left with Geffalrus and Nosy_Rat both having just 2. harveylh still has to play both challengers and these 2 matches should decide who prevails in this very exciting division. At the bottom youngr (Indo-Greek) is relegated after losing to fellow-struggler XLegione (Antigonid). In Division B 2 wins for paulmcneil (Galatian) means he is still in with an outside chance of taking the top spot from clear leader Schweetness 101 (Carthaginian). His matches with Schweetness 101 and desertedfox (Greek), who also has an outside chance of taking the top place, are now crucial. At the bottom we still have 3 players without any points at all, but they still have quite a few games left to rectify that situation. In Division C Ulysisgrunt (Antigonid) is confirmed in second place with 7 wins for the season, which gives him a very good chance of a discretionary promotion. Bluefin (Italian Hill Tribes), rs2excelsior (Pontic) and Garokan (Indian) are involved in a relegation dogfight now and rs2excelsior's matches against the other 2 may well decide the issue. Division D has finished its fixtures in style with the top player Macedonczyk (Indo-Greek) completing a clean sweep of 9 straight wins to finish on 35 points.

Very quiet in Division A this week with the only noteworthy development being a first win for paulmcneil (Ancient British) to move away from the foot of the table. The draws keep coming in Division B - 14 out of the 40 matches have been drawn so far, which must be a record. It is a very exciting division though, certainly one of the closest we have ever had. lydianed (Sassanid) won an important victory against the only player still unbeaten Questar17 (Gepid) to move to the top and he can reach 26 points if he gets a 4 point win in his last match against desertedfox (Roman). But desertedfox can also reach 26 points if he wins that match and his other remaining match against Questar17. Questar17 can get to 28 points with 3 wins and Nijis (Hepthalite) can get to 24 points if he wins his last match and that may be enough if there are even more draws. Things are much clearer at the bottom where IMC (Moorish) is definitely relegated after still winless Challenge1 picked up his fifth score draw to overtake him. In Division C Bluefin (Hunnic) has kept his slender hopes of taking second place alive with a third win after current incumbent SawyerK (Kingdom of Soissons) surprisingly lost his last match to ninth-placed rs2excelsior (Palmyran). That first win for rs2excelsior means that Garokan (Scots-Irish) will be relegated. Just the wooden spoon to decide in Division D where a second win for baldrick52 (Pictish) means he needs at least a score-draw in his last match against second-placed Macedonczyk (Jewish) to overtake General Kostas (Byzantine).

Two wins for Nosy_Rat (Byzantine) this week has seen him move alongside harveylh (Andalusian) at the top of Division A with both players having 6 straight wins. The championship looks to be between just these 2 players now. Furious activity in Division B this week has seen Schweetness101 (Andalusian) take the automatic promotion place after completing a clean sweep of 9 straight wins. Cunningcairn (Frankish) will definitely finish second and has a chance of discretionary promotion having posted 7 wins in the season. At the bottom Challenge1 (Arab Umayyad) is in dire straits now and he needs 5 points from his last 2 matches to have any chance of overtaking Questar17 (Byzantine) and avoiding the drop. No change in Division C where remf220 (Norman) needs a miracle to avoid the drop and no change in Division D where Macedonczyk (Arab Conquest) still needs just 1 point from his last 2 matches to win automatic promotion.

dkalenda (Assyrian) is still top of Division A and his position strengthened this week as his closest rivals klayeckles (Kyrenean Greek) and harveylh (Arab) both dropped points. ianiow (Syracuse) picked up his first wins to move out of the relegation zone but the real heroics at the bottom were performed by desertedfox (Egyptian) who won his last 3 matches after posting no wins in the previous 6. All this means that Ulysisgrunt (Cypriot) is definitely relegated after failing to win a match this season. In Division B pompeytheflatulent (Median) extended his lead to 5 points after another win but this division will surely be decided by his match with currently unbeaten nyczar (Spartan). At the bottom Mike Marchant (Assyrian) needs to win his last 2 matches to have any chance of avoiding the drop. It is still very close in Division C where edb1815 (Cypriot) has moved into second place and he can still reach 30 points. His challengers are unbeaten lunecastle (Babylonian), who can still score a 36 point maximum for the season, and Hyde77 (Spartan), who can reach 32 points. lunecastle has still to play both edb1815 and Hyde77. At the bottom there are 3 players vying for the wooden spoon, Barrold713 (Urartian), iandavidsmith (Carthaginian) and kerrak (Assyrian).

Just 3 weeks left now until the deadline. I know that we have the coronavirus with us now and it is affecting some players, particularly those in China, Italy and Spain at the moment, but I am going to try and bring things to a tidy conclusion on April 12th. There may have to be an extension for the Themed Event but otherwise I hope not to give any more extensions for this season. If you have matches that you have not started yet then you should issue challenges for them in the next few days. Please don't leave any longer than that so we can get as many matches completed as possible. Last season every match started and there were only a few adjudications required. I will be posting lists of unfinished matches up this week so please check that I have all your results. Thanks.
