For the love of God!!!!! Make the steam game purchase upgradeable!!!!
Get on this now!!!! Make steam purchases upgradeable to the Field Marshal edition!!!!!!
Re: For the love of God!!!!! Make the steam game purchase upgradeable!!!!
I agree it would be nice. But maybe ask a bit nicer than just demanding. It's not like we didn't know we'd get 2 dlc out of it (though i am a bit miffed about the early access, seems unnecessary in all honesty)

While the Devs read Steam posts, I don't think Steam reads all Slitherine posts.
Complaining there might have more effect.
Of course I may be a little optimistic.

Just showing my enthusiasm to spend more money on their game, not really meant to be a rude demand...

Is Steam the problem ?
THAT WOULD explain some things.

" PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY !!! "
" Nah , keep your lousy money ! Who cares about money ? "

I've been meaning to ask-
if a game can be bought either from the game company (such as Slitherine) or from Steam, which should we choose? Does it matter which one we buy from? Would game companies prefer us to buy from themselves or from Steam?

In general probably best strait from company - steam takes a cut otherwise (not sure how it works getting a steam key from Slitherine)PoorOldSpike wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 5:52 pm I've been meaning to ask-

If you buy from Slitherline, you get an automatic Steam Key.PoorOldSpike wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 5:52 pm I've been meaning to ask-

It shows up on your 'My Page' at the Slitherline Store.
Once you had to register your game, but now it appears to be automatic.

I bought PC2 from Slith and it runs fine without any problems at all, why would I need to use a 'Steam key', what's it for?
PS Anyway I buy all my games from the companies themselves because I can't see any advantage buying from Steam.

A Steam Key allows you play the game under the Steam environment.PoorOldSpike wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 8:58 pm I bought PC2 from Slith and it runs fine without any problems at all, why would I need to use a 'Steam key', what's it for?
It has some advantages, but is certainly not necessary.
Steam was used for the Beta, and will probably be used for any DLC Betas.
Steam also uses cloud backup for saved games, allowing your to play a campaign on more than one computer.
Of course that slows down quitting Steam

Steam also has it's own PzC2 forum, which if you read may convince to avoid Steam even more.
