Re: Warsaw
Finished the campaign and mission myself never getting more than that junk in spite of crap tons of CP.
Re: Warsaw
It's 8 CP for the first event, and 4 more for the follow up event. Grand total is 12 CP needed at the start of Warsaw.
Re: Warsaw
I manually went and double checked this, past just reviewing the LUA scripts.
It's definitely working, I snapped this screenshot from the same version of the game everyone on Steam FM Early Access has.

Re: Warsaw
I indeed got it after two events, but truth be told I was also a bit confused initally thinking there might be some random element to it. Still, the scenario tree with CP spendings listed helped make me realize it is probably the investment of 4CP spend that will finish the event.
On a side note, that was a nice prestige sink that helps avoid accumulating silly amounts that do not contribute to anything for a long time. I had almost 20k prestige after Lvov, so giving up 75% was a really hard decision thinking about how 44 and 45 AO might result in really prestige challenging situations (like in the original GC) and that a single award might not be enough to justify the prestige spent. Overall however, getting the heros early for relatively cheap and other bonuses later for more seems like a much better approach than the SCW hero appearing by the end. It makes resource management much more flexible and imposes less pressure to complete each and every bonus objective.

Re: Warsaw
You can "avoid" prestige loss by purchasing tons of expensive stuff like 15cm Arty and putting it into reserve the mission before. After the prestige cut you can sell it and get your prestige back...Tassadar wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 11:27 am I indeed got it after two events, but truth be told I was also a bit confused initally thinking there might be some random element to it. Still, it would feel a bit like a cheat (or at least game mechanic abuse), so I have no complaints about losing that 75%.
Re: Warsaw
Anyone who wants to try and cheat the system... we don't really care. It'll do too much damage to players to block this behavior. It means putting limits on the reserve system that would be harmful to players who are using it properly or those who like to hang on to their special units in reserve like a trophy wall.
And if we blocked that... people will just figure out how to edit LUA. If we block that, they will use cheat codes. If we block that, they will use 3rd party programs to edit memory to manually change the number.
So if this is the tactic for you... more power to you. We have to build the game for the overwhelming majority of players, and I suspect your average player on Steam is not going to these lengths to save prestige, given the rampant complaints about difficulty and running out of prestige all the time.

Re: Warsaw
I tried the same thing, but I did not cheat by purchasing artillery that wasn't normally available. Anyhow, I did not do it for the purpose of reaping prestige. I did it because I planned to choose "Denied Artillery" trait and I wanted an extra artillery piece to expand later in the DLC. I actually bought three, but for some reason only one of them carried over when I imported my core.Tassadar wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:48 pmThat so genious and simple that... Re: Warsaw
never once saw that second popup on my play-through. beat the mission on turn 30, saw nothing, reloaded it, and just turn skipped through all 50 turns, notta.
Would it be evident in the save game file? worth an upload?
Re: Warsaw
Decided to post this bug in this thread since the discussion already revolves around the Soviet prototype.
MAJOR BUG PRESENT WITH THE PROTOTYPE !!!
I got the prototype on Turn 9. It was parked right next to the north eastern airfield (see screenshot).
Problem was that Turn 10 was going to be a rainy day, so lo and behold - at that start of Turn 10 it crashed.
Oh, and after it crashed - you can't buy it back since there are no parts left.
Not cool Devs, not cool at all !
I am not sure if the weather is fixed or not, but replaying 10 turns of Warsaw assault seems like a bit of a pain, if I'm not guaranteed to actually get the prototype because of a potential of a rainy weather.
My personal feeling is that this edge case should've been spotted during testing

Re: Warsaw
Well that's really unfortunate. Chances of that happening are extremely low, but I guess it's possible.
I'll change it so the weather in that scenario can't turn to raid, hopefully it'll get into patch for full release.
Sorry that one slipped through.

Re: Warsaw
Thanks for a quick response.
If it gets into the patch - that would be awesome, although I suspect I'd need to replay the scenario regardless since the weather has already been set, right?
I think it's OK to have rain in the mission itself. Perhaps when the user gets the prompt about receiving the prototype, the weather for the turn after it's spawned can be set to Clear.
That should help with actually acquiring it.
Re: Warsaw
Geez that is an unfortunate turn of events
. I would replay the whole Warsaw map for this because I really enjoy this scenario. There is just everything in it. City, forests, clear terrain for pincer moves, butt load of core slots, deployment freedom... ... every single toy in player arsenal can be used successfully.

Re: Warsaw
The same happened to me, at first I thought it was due to the airfield being full but it effectively takes the plane two full turns to "land", it arrived in turn 8, in 9 it was still "stuck" and with the rain starting in 9, it crashed in turn 10.Agarwaen wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:30 am Decided to post this bug in this thread since the discussion already revolves around the Soviet prototype.

BUG - AO 1939 - Warsaw Prototype crashes.jpg
I restarted the scenario by loading the last turn of the previous scenario, deployed my troops differently and this time, I think I received the plane 1-2 turns sooner so the rain was not an issue. Was really annoyed about losing the plane each time after reloading save games before finally deciding to entirely restart and regenerate the scenario by loading the previous battle.
yea, I liked it as well. the two finnish ones were fun too, but the first one was over way too quickly, I barely managed to farm captured equipmentbrumleek wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 7:02 am Geez that is an unfortunate turn of events. Re: Warsaw
Hmm, I spend the extra 4 cp as well, but never saw any Il-2, what turn should I sopose to get it? My battle ends with victory at turn 36, is that to soon?
Re: Warsaw
No, it is way before that. I just checked and it appears at the beginning of Turn 9, ready to move/fight in Turn 10.
Re: Warsaw
thx - I will start a new battle for Warzaw and see whats happends. I've got the first announcement to spend, now I will notice, which turn the second come.
Re: Warsaw
Here is a weird thing that probably should be mentioned because I've not seen it anywhere else that I just thought of.
If you end the scenario before it and then call it a day and quit PC2, any offers or purchases with CP that you accepted before you quit PC2 will NOT WORK!!
Allow me to further elaborate. You NEED to save the game yourself. DO NOT depend on the autosave! This happens when you don't save it, and later launch the game and open your campaign only using that "autosave 0." For some reason, a bug I suppose, it doesn't remember that you had clicked "Yes, authorize..." before you left the game. You need to either play at least one turn or save the game yourself so it's titled, "warsaw0" or something like that. If you do, then it will remember. I noticed this even in SCW, but oddly I am myself astounded that I never posted it in the bugs thread nor have seen anyone else mention it.
So check if that's the case with you. If so, open the last save file from the scenario that you completed directly before Warsaw. Finish that turn and when you are in Warsaw and done clicking on whatever, save the game manually. Hope this helps!
Re: Warsaw
Thx adie - that was a terrible bug, you have discovered, but good is up in the open. Now I have to restart once more
