I would love for scenario designers to have the option to allow the purchase of mines, bunkers, MG foxholes etc as part of initial deployment. Maybe even conduct the destroy actions that Engineers and other units can have. I realize this might require either use of CP or creation of a separate "Fortification Points" mechanic which I realize may be asking too much.
Or maybe I'm the only one who loves defensive combat engineering.
I tend to use my engineers to lay mines and blow bridges on flanks I consider vulnerable during attacking missions, and to blow bridges/lay mines as prep during defensive scenarios while forces conduct mobile delays.
I'm not sure that I'd want/use bunkers as it'd be a burn of cash for zero XP gain on a weak aux unit but I guess that depends on the costing.
Was totally unaware of JDD and I think that would do much to address. If that were available for Soviets I might actually try designing a Stalingrad scenario
