The Invasion Operations Tournament is exploring the interesting and unique challenge that comes with invading the enemy from the sea and against entrenched defenders on land. Invasions are always a tricky business. The advantage is hard to predict as the attackers often know where the defenders are. But that may not help against the truly entrenched and determined on their home turf.

Take on other players and both sides to see who will come out on top.

The Invasion Operations Tournament is the second official Order of Battle tournament and features 3 unique scenarios:

Peninsula Invasion (1942) – This fictional scenario occurs near the start of the Japanese invasion of Burma. This is a unique take on an invasion front that was historically mostly overland. The Japanese forces must cut a vital rail link whilst the British defenders must make the best use of the dense jungle to frustrate their attackers.

Wake Island Assault (1942) - Distracted by the battle at Pearl Harbour, the American defenders at wake island repel one invasion only to face a second, more determined attempt. The defenders historically were overwhelmed and eventually captured. The balance of power for this mission has been evened out so anyone could come out on top.

Karjelan Kesä Fictional Scenario (1941) - This scenario features the German forces attacking over the Karelian Peninsula with the Russian forces defending north of Leningrad. This fictional scenario covers a “what if” situation where Germany took the lead in this theatre, rather than just helping to arm the Finns.



If you’re not familiar with Slitherine’s PBEM system, here’s how it works: the system will pair you with opponents and create your PBEM games for you automatically. You will be notified by mail of when the tournament is starting and when it is time to play your turns. The tournament follows the Swiss Tournament rules.

Played my opponent in the peninsula scenario, and playing Japan blew one of the bridges by round 8. Would not have taken me long to take out the other for a complete victory.

In the reverse playing the Brits, has him bogged down and was proceeding to get the upper hand in that battle as well..

Instead of playing the remaining rounds, my opponent he has not returned in 4 days thus denying me victory and points.

This is the major flaw of this game, and why I abandoned playing multi-player mode, bacuse as soon as you get the upper hand, the other guy always disappears and just a big waste of time.

I wish you could see your opponents stats ( how many game played, how many wins, how many surrenders, how many game he has just up and abandoned) so I could know if it was worth starting a game against him.

There's a good chance that you might get some bonus points in those games if your opponent has abandoned at that stage.

Sadly there's always a risk of people not being able to complete their games. Real Life happens (and it's often not that people don't want to play, but can't). We are looking into adding new features to improve the experience for players who diligently complete their games, but they won't be rolled out for a few months yet.

i have an opponent that hasn't played in 7 days how do i claim victory and move on?

I have been trying to find out the scoring mechanics for the OOB Tournament. This is my first tournament and I am quite enjoying it, even though I am getting my ass handed to me. Could anyone direct me to where I can find the scoring mechanics? In other words, I would like a break down of scoring. I am assuming you get so many points for damaging or killing your opponents forces, capturing objectives etc. Is there a breakdown for this?

Each map is different, if you click on the ? Next to each objective on the objectives then you get a description of what you need to do and what the rewards are for each.

In general, you get VP for holding key locations, destroying enemy units and capturing enemy HQs
