I have had one example of this pointed out this morning where a player has picked their main army correctly, but because the beginning and end dates of that army are very wide apart (over 500 years in some cases), the allies they have chosen fall outside the dates of that particular section of the tournament. There are only a handful of armies in FOG2 where this can happen and while I think it did happen before I cannot actually remember what I decided to do about it.

So, the ruling is this - I have got quite enough checking to do now in what has become a huge tournament, so I am not going to add another layer. Players need to take responsibility themselves for making sure that their allies fall within the dates of the particular tournament section. From now on (22/1) anyone selecting an "ahistorical ally" (for lack of a better description) will have that army selection ignored when I get round to allocating armies. I will speak to anyone who posted such an ally before 22/1 and ask them to change it. This loophole will be completely closed for Season 11.

Does the midpoint of the ally’s army list need to fall between the given dates (iirc that’s the rule for determining which section an army list which covers two sections goes to), or just have any date within the section’s range? I.e. would a hypothetical 5 BC - 100 AD list be an allowable ally for Classical Antiquity?
