A very hard battle. Syracusan left wing take more time than expected to break her opponent. This, and the loss of a syracusan general in the center allowed the fierce spanish warbands to break the syracusan center after heavy combats. Each turn losses grown up in both side and at the end Syracusan won when some right troups and a victorious elephant come back to battle to take spaniards in their rear.
Thank you to Oscarius for this epic battle where victory could switch to one side or another at any moment.

The match was a lot closer than it sounded. gort7078 made his stand and made me come to him. The centre was blocked by rough so I was forced to split my force. A number of units were hidden in the forest on my right wing and managed to get the jump on me. I managed to hold and started pushing back. Meanwhile my left wing faced gort's knights and took big casualties with my dismounted knights as I tried to push forward. Luckily I managed to take down several units with crossbowmen. In the end, despite the rough, I managed to breakthrough in the centre from left and right. Good game.
