Division A
harveylh - Italo-Norman 1061-1071 AD with Arab (North Africa) 1038-1160 AD allies defeats CyberHetman - Ghurid 1100-1215 AD with Indian (Hindu North) 1050-1300 AD allies, 65-42
Great game. Terrain protected the Italo-Norman flanks and that was the difference. Ghurids conducted an effective assault and the game was much closer than the score indicates. I expect the Ghurids to win most of their games.

Division E
Quivis (German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD with Free Canton 1200-1319 AD allies) drew heidipie (Berber (Almohad) 1121-1269 AD) 25-18
During the first 20 turns, both armies avoided confrontation. Much of the battlefield consisted of high, rough hills, causing the Imperial army to bravely run away from the numerous Berber missile units, while the Berber spearmen stayed away from the strong Imperial infantry and cavalry. Only in the last 4 turns the armies fought in close combat. During these turns, the Imperial army desperately tried to get 25%, which they eventually managed to achieve. Good game and thrilling end to the DL of the Imperial Germans!

Re: Tournament News and Diary . . .
MorkinTheFree has accepted the place in Early Middle Ages Division A. He will also play in Biblical Division A if there is no-one else who really wants to. I will open a new thread shortly and see if there is anyone else keen to play.

Last call: there is a vacancy in Biblical Division A . . .
Cunningcairn has withdrawn from this section of the tournament. I do have a suitable reserve, MorkinTheFree, but the Silk Road armies are not his favourite, so he said he will play provided no-one else really wants to. So I am looking for an experienced tournament player, who has a FOG2DL rating of 4.50 or higher, who will commit to completing 5 "mirror matches" by December 12th.
If you want to take up this vacancy, please post in this thread or send me a PM.
