I agree. I'm in the same boat this round, well ahead in both legs. However in the previous round I was well and truly stuffed and it's difficult to get the motivation to continue especially when you know that if you do you'll get less points. Much to my own shame , I didn't finish 1 leg.bendtheknee wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 7:13 am hello, little post to complain again about the rating system ^^
Since the beginning of the tournament, I had the chance to come across opponents who finished their games. But for this round, my opponent (Alexchang) hasn't played for two weeks and we are currently in round 8/15. The game was clearly starting to turn in my favor on both sides.I don't presume of Alexchang's intentions an impediment does not allow him to connect or simply if he decided to stop playing to not lose..
In fact, in three days my score will not have changed, all victory hex points, all destroyed units and the 500 points will not be allocated to me.
This problem of people stopping playing is really frustrating. The recent implementation of 500 victory points makes it even more frustrating knowing that it does not only depend on you but also on the goodwill of your opponent...
Is it not possible to install a timer like in chess ? in order to be able to play their turn without the opponent having taken theirs or simply allocating points once this timer has passed.
the disadvantage of this problem associated with the Swiss tournament system is that my general ranking drops and that necessarily I risk falling on an opponent with the same bad intentions (indeed this kind of behavior is not found at the top of the table) . The worst would be to fall against Alexchang...
I think the chess timer is a good idea and could work along these lines..
21 days to complete each leg = 504 hours total. Ecah player should have half that time = 252 hours. Each time your opponent finishes their turn the timer starts to accumulate hours against you. When this goes over 252hours you get penalised for each hour. I would suggest 10 points deducted for each hour .
Loss of points should be motivating enough not to delay too much.
