- Hello everyone! "Corps francais de Vichy" is a fan made Panzer Corps 2 DLC, that will let you experience the history
from 1940-1944 of the Second World, through the eyes of a mostly neglected and forgotten by historians member of
the Axis Powers, one that played a strategic role in the faithful conflict, the member in question is of course Vichy
France! This Mod will let you fight in Europe against the allies in the late war, in Africa against the free French and the
Allies and in Asia you will be up against the Japanese Empire, as well as allied troops, fight your way through this often
unexplored corner of history and maybe you can turn the tide of war.

fully fleshed out and completed it will be posted on the steam workshop and here on this post, you are welcome to try
out the demo version of the mod, which has now been released.

Well!... this is a bit of an unexpected surprise. I'm glad that you have decided to tackle this adventure... as no one else has ever considered it.

Now!... i would like to go one step further???... sounds puzzling?... but it really isn't.

"No-One else" has even ever considered how 'Frances' direction in the war could have been so different as to drastically change the unfolding-events or direction of WWII.

In the past i have mentioned that the 'Maginot-Line' was never fully completed... "Why???"... because this 'Maginot-Line-Fortress'... being nearby 'or' in-front of the Belgian borders door-step... would be construed as an "Insult!" to the Belgian's... the French Government did not want Belgium to be hostile or angry with them. Because of that... the Germans were now able to push the Allied-Forces to Dunkerque... and you know the rest of the story.

As-well!.... "Charles de Gaulle" wanted to have a medium sized...full-time 'Trained-Army'... which would be ready to go at a moments notice... without having to first go through the long-laborious process/motions of... this "drag-out session" of starting to raise raw recruits from scratch... to train them or to bring them up to speed... and so on... and on... which was very slow and time consuming. The rest of the Army could of course be 'Mobilized'... as usual!.

Maybe there is even more here that i haven't covered!... but even just having the Maginot-Line finished as a "complete-construction project"... and as well... having de Gaulle's "mobile-ready" 'armored strike-force' ready to move into immediate action at a moment's notice... just may have tipped the direction of WWII history!. Chew on that for a bit!.

These ideas can only be put into action in an 'AHistorical' or 'Alternate' war preparations choice or decision.

Yes, indeed. Even the smallest thing in the past could change all of History, it is really interesting to consider alt-history scenarios like that! :)

Part 2

- When you have done Part 1, look for a folder named "Briefing_Portraits" in the VFC folder, open it and copy all of the
files inside it. Then open your folder where your Panzer Corps 2 Game is located {Where Exactly is that?... I use STEAM... I do not have the Game installed on a Hard-Drive.} , locate the folder "Images" in "Panzer
Corps 2/Content/Briefing/Images". Now find the folder "Heroes_Portraits" in the VFC folder, then copy all of the files
inside it???
***Not only that!...*** but I have downloaded almost all the PzC2-Mods and have installed them!, however?... I am unable to locate yours on STEAM. Please re-explain how to find it... or leave a direct link to it on this forum discussion subject page.

Hope it helps!

I have finally completed all instructions... including this one below... but am still UNABLE to get the MOD to work.
What have I missed?.
[in the "Heroes" folder create a folder named "VF" now paste all of the files from
the "Heroes_Portraits" into the "vf" folder and you're good to go! ]

1. The "Heroes folder is located in "Panzer Corps 2/Content/Gui/Common/Heroes" 2. If you have PC2 on steam, try creating this in your documents folder: create the folders "My Games/Panzer Corps 2/Mods/[Put the mod folder here]", steam should recognize this, if it still won't work let me know.

Hey I did some poking around with my steam version, it seems that I'll have to upload the mod to the workshop for steam users of PC2 to be able to use it, If you want to play it still I recommend you take the information from "Campaigns.csv" located in "VFC/Data" and paste it in "Panzer Corps 2/Content/Data/Campaigns.csv", like a text file, just get the info from the one file and paste into the other, sort of "merge them", now try repeat all the other steps with the briefing portraits and heroes portraits (just in case), then go to the mod folder and find the folder named "VFCMC" in "VFC/Campagns", now paste that "VFCMC" folder into the "Campaigns" folder of your Panzer Corps 2 Folder, which is located in "Panzer Corps 2/Content" Now for the final step, open the "VFC" folder and find a folder named "Images" copy that folder, now paste it into "Panzer Corps 2/Content/Campaigns", that's all! Sorry if this got very complicated, I did my best to try and find a solution, however I tested this out and it should work, until I create a workshop page for the mod I'll make a PDF manual with detailed instructions on how to install the mod manually for steam users. Hope this finally helps! :D

The title of this mod is strange for me.
I can’t find the term "Corps français de Vichy" anywhere but I can find the term "l'armée de Vichy". Is it a translation problem or a term created for this DLC ?

In any case, this mod seems original and I hope it will come to an end :)

Yes, it is sort of a term for the mod, "Corps français de Vichy" stands for Vichy French Corps.

Have you tried this?

If it still won't budge I suggest you try to manually install the campaign (which what I have showed down below), if this still doesn't worry, I'm sorry I'm honestly out of ideas at this point, you'll just have to wait till I make a workshop page for it.

Just to notify you I created an Extremely detailed manual on how to install my mod, you can find it in the "How to Download" section of this forum, hope this finally helps you as I tested it out myself and it seems to work, I will continue to keep this manual up, until I make a workshop page for the mod. (Once it's fully released) :D

CLARIFICATION_EXPLANATION... Of "Rapid-Reaction-Force!":
Now!... i would like to go one step further???... sounds puzzling?... but it really isn't.

"No-One else" has even ever considered how 'Frances' direction in the war could have been so different as to drastically change the unfolding-events or direction of WWII.

The rest of the Army could of course be 'Mobilized'... as usual!.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes!... the French already had a limited available 'Standing Army',.. likely... not at the 'Ready'... so to speak... but to remedy this sorry-situation... "Charles de Gaulle" had in mind to do something like this present day situation that is unfolding right-now!.

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/na ... 3cb09d6a25

BRUSSELS (AP) — NATO will increase the strength of its rapid reaction force nearly eightfold to 300,000 troops as part of its response to an “era of strategic competition," the military alliance's secretary-general said Monday.
Image

The NATO reaction force currently numbers around 40,000 soldiers which can deploy quickly when needed

Stoltenberg said he expects allies to make clear they consider Russia “as the most significant and direct threat to our security."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These ideas can only be put into action in an 'AHistorical' or 'Alternate' war preparations choice or decision.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now!... here is some information that I found on the internet!:
DE GAULLE'S PROFESSIONAL ARMY:
https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/pdfs/ADA509926.pdf

De Gaulle asserted essentially that quality is better than quantity. A professional army is superior to the nation in arms, and France should construct a strongly armored, professional army.

He firmly believed there were instances when France would want to attack outside her own borders. Therefore, he rejected the defensive nature of the nation in arms and, in effect, called for the creation of an army that could launch a "preventive strike" or initiate an immediate offensive upon the declaration of hostilities.

" The solution was to establish a professional army". Without a professional army, there can be no French defense. "A professional army" would have both an offensive and a defensive capability, could be used immediately... would compel economy in both personnel and in materiel, and could be highly trained in the use of modern weapons of war.

France would still require a system of reserves, since this elite force could not possibly destroy all the forces of the enemy in an all-out war. But the "picked troops" of a professional army would be the foundation of France's defenses and would be the "vanguard of the mobilized-nation."

As for mechanized forces, De Gaulle's professional army would consist primarily of 28 French B-1 Tank. armored units. It would be composed of 100,000 volunteers, composing six divisions. Each division would have three brigades (one each of armor, infantry and artillery) with supporting engineer, signal, reconnaissance, and aerial units. The army would also have a light armored division for scouting purposes, a brigade of heavy tanks for attacking permanent fortifications, and assorted other support units. This professional army, then, would be a powerfully armed, swiftly moving body employing all the potential of armored forces.
