Thanks to my opponent for the great fight ! I had to win twice, because after an almost won battle (+25, but < 40 % mark) he managed to break my strong defensive position ... at the cost of extra attrition for the remaining Keils and Swiss Halabardiers...my forces were more numerous, but not same quality as Florentine Keils, but received good support by light guns... some accurate (=lucky) shots determined a cohesion loss in the left side of Florentine line (formed by 4 Keils) and that became a focal point for my infantry (and sometimes ranged) attacks... in this battle an enemy Keil (already weakened for previous combat) managed to survive 8 melee duels, fighting 3 Pike units and another Halabardiers unit at the same time... when it finally routed, the battle seemed won... but there was an almost full comeback. Good game

Our medium and light foot on the right flank spent much of the match in a staring/shooting match at each other in the rough terrain. On the left a breakthrough attempt by the Castilian elite knightly orders floundered against the solid defensive position of my crossbows and a tenacious defence by my mercenary knights. These allowed my Swiss to destroy the Castilian centre pikes and crossbows unimpeded.

Janohito using Assyrians with Egyptian Allies defeated unai98 who played as Pyrrhus 280-275 BC. Final score 60-48.

Battle turned into a slugfest towards the end. Assyrians had the advantageous position on the battlefield with a large hill on their left with a bit of rough patches on it, but there were also plenty of even ground for Pyrrhic pikeman to do their work on the center. While Pyrrhic italian infantry and raw hoplites got routed quite early in the battle on left flank, their pikeman advanced and gradually crushed Assyrian medium and heavy infantry. Chariots once again proved to be crucial part of battle line, holding pikeman in place. Cavalry battle went quite evenly with a flanking charge granting small advantage early on for Assyrians. By the end of the battle, Pyrrhic lines were reduced to pockets of pikeman with Assyrians trying to break them before cavalry and elephants would arrive. In the end Assyrians managed to break one of the pikeman unit and got their opponents to 60%.

A bloodbath of a battle. The Indians managed to win it by a trunk, oops I mean a nose.

Janohito using Assyrians with Egyptian Allies defeated angusosborne who took Thracian (Getai) 279BC-46AD with Greek Allies. Final score 62-49.

Battlefield was to Assyrian advantage with a hill in center and to the right flank. Assyrians invested heavily in massed archers which proved ineffective against large sized Thracian warbands. Once again heavy chariots proved to be effective in holding the line and breaking down the warbands with charge. But a well timed flanking strike on the right allowed Thracians to crush Assyrian right flank and gradually grind down center. Left flank did manage to break through Thracian troops in the end and thanks to a few lucky rallies on Assyrian side, carry the day.

anderarcos11 (Florentine 1400-1414 AD) beat gort7078 (Swiss 1491 - 1500 AD) 49 to 15. Score is 94 to 15.


Maneuver battle in which the Florentines took advantage of a hill to position their artillery and units at a distance. The Swiss pikemen advanced up the hill and attempted to attack some of the Florentine heavy cavalry only to be surrounded by the rest of the cavalry.
