Good time to buy the rights to Master of Orion?
Wonder if Slitherine should try to get the rights to Master of Orion? Seems like a good moment. It's been more six years since the release of the last game and it doesn't seem they are going to do anything new with it. Thoughts?

Thanks. I have it. Was already beta testing Distant Worlds 1 more thant 10 years ago. It's a unique game.
Master of Orion is however a very different game. And considering that Slitherine has already the rights to Master of Magic, it would make sense if it gets also the rights to Master of Orion (Wargaming doesn't seem to be doing anything with it right now).

I never played Masters of Orion but I have and do play Masters of Orion 2: Battle of Antares. It is a fun game and people have made mods and updated it. It is multiplayer capable already and there is an editor so you can even modify games in play. Although it would probably be best to edit the setup for multiplayer games before starting it.
It is a DOS game but it plays well in DOS box and someone even made a launch for that.

anguille makes a brilliant suggestion. I hope Slitherine do claim Master of Orion and bring it to life again. It is very much a Slitherine type game and was so enjoyable back in the day! MOOII was very good, I think it was MOOIII that was rushed and entirely incomplete.
Slitherine could reach out to the developers at Free Orion and see if they might like to participate or lend their skills.
