LOL! Amazingly I think all ianiow's games i.e. wins and losses have been either 3-1 or 2-2 scores.pompeytheflatulent wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 12:10 amI just had this mental image of a deposed monarch walking down the wrong alley and getting mugged. "Look, he's not on his camel today! Get him!" "Quick, kick him while he's down!" "Take his shoes!" "Ah shit! He's figured out how to fight on foot, run!"

Division C
rs2excelsior (Palmyrene) beat SawyerK (Kingdom of Soissons with Germanic Foot Tribes allies) 43-17
We re-rolled the map twice. The first time at my request, as there was a large forest on the opponent's side of the field which his army was poised to take position in (which I figured would lead to us staring at one another from across the forest and the battle ending with next to no result). The second map had a good mix of open and rough terrain, but a dominating hill on my side which caused my opponent to request a re-roll. The last was fairly flat and mostly open. The battle itself didn't really see any fancy maneuvers, my infantry advanced to meet his while my cataphracts advanced on my right flank. The warbands refused the flank and my cataphracts crashed into them, as the legions met their opposite numbers. The Soissons army had numbers, but not enough to be overwhelming, and the legionaries and cataphracts cut their way through before they could be ganged up on enough to tip the scales away.
The final map position, where the main clashes happened: Good game to my opponent, and I'm glad not to have a big ol' "0" in the win column with this army now!

oscarius (German w. Gallic allies) drew with Challenge1 (Hunnic w. German allies) 25 - 42 (i.e draw in the Hun's favour)
Despite some serious mid-game fighting the Huns withdrew their forces in the latter third and my primarily infantry forces lacked the mobility to seriously pursue. A good game.
