Complete army ratings (Seasons 1-12 combined)
Key to table
This is very straightforward. The numbers after the army name represent wins - draws (or ties) - losses. The table takes no account of the skill levels of the players using the army, it just gives the playing record of each of the armies that have been used in the competition. Any allies used (from Season 5 onwards) are disregarded - this table just uses the main component of the army. Obviously the higher the numbers involved with a particular army then the more meaningful the figures become as the disparity in skill levels between the various users is evened out.

Re: Final Army ratings (Seasons 1-12) . . .
Hey this is really interesting the outlier seems to be
Arab Conquest (638-684AD) 150-16-77
With a 2:1 success ratio, any thoughts on why? Guess it would be interesting to know if there were many players who used it or just a few good ones?

The Arab Conquest armies are good ones, their infantry must be some of the best value units in the game. Same for the Berbers in the later period.
What made the DL work so well is that the lower ranked players in a division could pick their armies first which created a partial handicap system. So there is an element of bias in these army stats in that the 'best' armies are not being used by the higher ranked players. I think more so in LA and and EMA because there are less of the 'preferable' armies to pick from. Just my opinion, others might have a different view.

That of course assumes that the lower ranked players know the system well enough to make those choices.

Couldn't agree more, I have made some army choices that I came to regret as the season progressed....That of course assumes that the lower ranked players know the system well enough to make those choices.

Perhaps to a certain extent but you also have to take into account that everyone had four choices and 99% of the time they got an army from those selections. I remember in Season 11 I was asked to submit another army because all my four selections were gone but I was the only player to have to do that out of 60. You can have a few good armies I am sure included in your four selections.tyronec wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 5:21 pm The Arab Conquest armies are good ones, their infantry must be some of the best value units in the game. You can also point to Andalusian (756-1049AD) and Jewish Revolt (65-135AD) with approximately 2 wins to 1 loss and 200 or more games. Both have been well represented as first choice army lists too.
