Heavy flickering renders the game unplayable

I can't play the game since the screen starts to rapidly flicker as soon as I start it. I am running Windows 10 64-bit and have installed it to the default locations. The Register and Cancel buttons are inside the launcher window on the loading screen, but the OK button is outside of it. I have a GTX 1650.

are you running v1.8 of the original or the unity version?
