Opening was good - nice clean look.Terrain good, units clear, mouse commands smooth and functional.
I was a major Panzer General fan and when I heard this game was being done - I was stoked.
I have read some comments and agree the RED hash mark on German units needs to be toned down. Make it a little thinner and not so bright.
As I've said, I loved Panzer General and hated the buggy follow ups which lead to an early grave.
Now initial impressions, the game seems to be a complete copy of Panzer General down to the scenario's.
I love the familiarity but at least change some scenario's. So far combat has been good no shocking loses of whole units etc...
During multiple combat actions (arty. inf\panzer) I did lose some, minor situation awareness of who was attacking who.
I believe this was due to the flash animation of the attacking \ defending units occurring in same direction. It would be much better if the unit faced the direction of combat.
Sound and animation good, well balanced not over done.
Over all opinion after 3 hours of play. Bland, NOTHING NEW, don't get me wrong I love having the old game back - yet I need a reason to believe that this isn't a DUKE NUKEM update.
I want to be the GENERAL again just not a Zombie General.
Remember don't hate the player just the game!
