Victory Location markings

Post by Orchrist »

One small thing I don't like that was changed a month and a half or so ago, I believe. I liked how the victory location hexes were outlined in yellow so they were easy to see no matter how much your map was zoomed in or out, I know that the country flag on the unit hex now shows the VL location, but I can barely see these. I think there should be a fix so that you can 'easily' see the VL's simply by grazing over the map rather than having to look closely at each individual city. In a real world situation, (I am an ex infantry officer), that information would have been clearly marked for all to see. I am sure there will be those that disagree, but I am not happy with how it stands now. Just my opinion!

I will second that request, also the core units. While everything looks nice and neat, you really have to look close to pick out VL`s. Why not have it next to the city name when you mouse over it. Or maybe have the city name in red or something to make it stand out.

I liked the yellow outline as well, but it's not that much of a deal breaker for me. I've gotten used to the new format, but I'm also playing on 40" HDTV at 1920x1080. It might be harder for people on smaller monitors and/or using lower resolutions to see the Victory Hexes. I'd imagine, though, that the yellow outline would scale well for all sizes of monitors and resolutions. The same probably goes with the unit designation between Core and Aux units. I can see the borders and difference just fine, but I could see how others, with different set-ups, may have a problem.

I agree and I think a compromise would be to add the Yellow hex outline in the strategic map view.

I'll add it to The List, right under stronger core/aux differences. :)

11.75 Stronger and more prominent markings for victory hexes.
