Morris vs Joe Rock

Post by Morris »

Hi eveyone :
I have a really good news that the great Joe Rock is coming back . I am so lucky to have an opprtunity to play with him . It is my hornor . I have been looking forward to this for a long time . Since Mr Joe is too busy to make any AAR , by his approval , I will make a brief AAR to share the interesting points of our pbem . :)

I will play Axis , Mr Joe Rock play Allies .
Normal options (no para corp ,no purchase guards)

Turn 1,2 Axis invade Polland & conquer Warsaw by normal lost in turn 2 .
Our subs are on the way to their target ----convoy & RN .

Dec 1939

In last turn ,Axis's subs searched a chance to launch a attack to a DD which was at the corner of the standard escort fleet with a CV in the center . We badly hurt the DD ,but failed to sink it .

In this turn , I thought the fleet would retreat to the port , but I found that They did not retreat & both of my subs were badly hurt to only 5 steps left . It was done by the RN's BB ! So I have to run away . At the same time , Axis BB was found by English sub on the way to the Northern Atlantic , it was a battle ,the result is 2:2 . So Bismack had to retreat . It is the first time I felt no confident to use sub blob to against Allies after the 2.01.35 . I will reconsider the strategy of my navy .

RN launched a coast bombardment & badly hurt Axis's troops ! But Axis have no time to lick their wound ,they have to move forward ! To Paris ! one more Mech ,one corp & one Gar detroyed . we made two breakthrough , but maybe we will lost one Mech . That will be the price of Paris .

Ouch, it is usually very costly to advance along the coast of France especially against a player like Joe. You will probably loose that mech unless you get lucky.

Paris fall . It is a normal France compaign . Only 1 BEF to France ( The Mech back to England last turn without a fight ) .
It seems it is hopeless for a sealion . The only direction is east .

I got lucky. It seems Joe had no interest to kill it . UK's ground troops were only watcher during the France compaign .

Mud weather in central Europe . We could only half encircle Belgrade , If the weather would not turn clear , Yugo will make us pay a lot .

Image

Allies also conquer Syria .

It is quiet in Med . We did not find any UK troops coming to Lybia . Where is the 8th Army ?

The weather is fair again ! We take Belgrade . I wonder whether the Greece is necessary . During the last two AAR , I have tested my defence strategy , It seems not work verywell . So I am thinking of an amazing Babarosa ,It should be much interesting than the boring defence strategy . Since I seldom launch Babarosa after my panzer blob strategy was over . I still have time to think it over .

Babarosa preparation is going on . nothing happened but some patisans (4 in Yugo !) .

The lab progress is not quite good . I maybe have to launch the attack with very low tech lvl ! I do hope the lab may gain some rapid progress in the coming turns !

In Med Italian sub found UK bring new BB into eastern Med . It seems they will do something there . Sicily or Greece ?
