As a long time X-box 360 fan I find myself wondering why we don't have a system like that for Panzer Corps. I know we don't need it but it would be cool to have goals outside of the scenario specific goals.
Achievements can be used to encourage people to try things they normally wouldn't try. For instance you could have achievements such as:
1. Kill 300 airplanes with AA guns.
2. Capture 15 units
3. Complete the DLC using 10 infantry
Whatever combination you want. The point is that the intelligent use of achievements can extend the length of game play you get out of a game as well as be used as a carrot to encourage people to use different play styles.
Why no in game achievements?

Re: Why no in game achievements?
I totallly agree. The main campaign is boring. Not even variety in map tiles and it's just capturing.
Re: Why no in game achievements?
I disagree. IMO, I don't think that the main campaign is boring, or even if it was, the achievements wouldn't add any replayability factor.
However I understand, that some people would like it. Although I think, that because that the developers team is small, there are other things much, much more important to deal with.
If one day the publishers and the devs decide that Panzer Corps should be sold in the Steam platform, probably you would see then the achievements implemented..

Re: Why no in game achievements?
Well achievements could be in game only no need to make them require the Internet. And absolutely achievements make a game replayable if they are thought out well. It wouldn't be horribly hard to implement either.VPaulus wrote:I disagree. Obvioiusly you are correct that with a small team they may have other things to do first but that doesn't mean this can't get done eventually.

Re: Why no in game achievements?
We'd love to have them - its simply a matter of time and resources. The team are all working hard on other things which are higher priority.
Re: Why no in game achievements?
There so many possibilities in this game we/you could spend years doing things.
Thank heavens we can mod.
