This AAR is between Leonard (axis) and myself (allies). We just completed a game with me as the axis and Leonard as the allies that ended in a draw! Up until late summer 1944 I was sure I had the game won, only to see my axis crumble like burnt toast. I tried my best to collapse in a manner to give me a minor victory (i.e., still control Berlin and / or Hamburg at the end of turn 105, May 12, 1945). My hope for victory waned up and down through winter '44/'45; but then was all but dashed when I got fair weather (Central Europe) on both February 1 and 21, 1945 (100 & 101) turns. I thought for sure that this was the final nail in my coffin; but regardless I vowed to fight on to the bitter end. Then, when all was seemingly loss, the weather gods who had been so cruel decided to grant me the gift of mud on the March 13, 1945 (turn 102) turn. Oh glorious mud! Why on why couldn't I have had you the previous two turns? But; that was not to be and was now in the past. In turns out that this mud turn slowed the allies down just enough for me to hold onto Hamburg until the last turn of the game. A draw after playing 105 turns! What cruel fates the weather gods bestow on us mere mortals.
