I hope you're well. We would like to share with you some of the things we've been working on during the past couple of weeks.
Mauricio, our 3D artist, has finished with the dozens of renders required for the Soyuz 7K-LOK program. Boris, our UI and animation artist, will now use them in order to do the animations, which we hope to include in either 0.7.19 or 0.7.20. Mauricio has now moved on to the renders for the remaining missions for part 1: Luna 3, Mars M69 and the PKA flight test. This last mission requires modelling the Tu-95 plane. You can see an untextured preview of it in the images below.
Some members of the community are also giving us a big hand with the game at the moment: Nicolas (user N_Molson from the forums) has joined us on a full-time basis for a few weeks and is helping us by assembling the animations for the Soviet program, doing internal playtesting (that's why you're getting a relatively small number of major bugs on every release!

As for myself, I spent nearly a week upgrading our codebase from NGUI 2 (a third-part UI library) to NGUI 3, which doesn't provide backwards compatibility. Being such a UI-intensive game, there were lots of things to revise and fix in SPM, but luckily we're done with that now. This new version of the game using NGUI 3 runs a lot more smoother than the previous ones and, on top of that, it gets rid of some annoying graphical bugs which simply couldn't be fixed in NGUI 2. We're quite happy with the results, and I'm sure you'll notice a difference as well! Now I'm working on the multiplayer code, which I'd like to finish as soon as possible because I can't wait to play matches online!!
We're still aiming to release the next patch around June 11th. We'll try to fit as many soviet animations as we can. As always, you can take a look at our progress by visiting this link.
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
