Hold Fire Question

How close does an enemy unit have to before a squad, AT Gun, etc. open fire to ambush them? Is it in the Squads file? I don't want to be holding fire and have the opponent run by two squares away.

You have to turn off Hold Fire if you want themm to opertunity fire. However, scouts can spot them from 2 squares away and other infantry can spot them when they are adjacent to these units. Once spotted, the unit will behave like they are not on Hold Fire orders.
