BA2 slow on iPad
Has anyone else noticed the slow play on their iPads? I have an iPad Air I running iOS 7 with shadows turned off and the game play/replay is very sluggish throughout campaign and multiplayer (and no smoke arty present either- I know that can really bog down graphics).

Re: BA2 slow on iPad
Is this on a specific mission or campaign? We worked hard on performance but, that said, I am not sure of the specific hardware in an Air, and whether it may be less speedy than the normal iPads when compared to the resolution it runs in (is it retina?).

It's on the campaign mode and i did notice it in the multiplayer coop game as well. The iPad Air specs are- 1.5GHz A7 processor, 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM, and Retina Display -Quad-core PowerVR G6430.

Re: BA2 slow on iPad
Hmmm - doing some digging it looks like the Air has some sacrifices on the vertex throughput (actually setting up the triangles) when compared to other iPads - about 2x slower than an iPad 4 for triangle throughput. Unfortunately BA is very polygon heavy (the curse of games with lots of small 'things' onscreen verses those lucky Infinity Blade guys with just a handful of large objects...) and so there isn't really a lot we can do to overcome that. I guess Apple felt it was worth the sacrifice.
If you are already running with shadows off, then the next best way to improve framerate is to zoom in slightly, as you will be pushing less triangles.

Yeah, I can also confirm the shadow lag, but I assumed it's because I'm running it on an old iPad (great stuff actually, that you made it work on an "ancient" first-gen iPad actually). I removed shadows, and it's much faster. Also I zoom in when playing both BA and BA2, as performance improves significantly.
