v1.1 Bug Report unlocking lunar programs

Post by Briggs »

If a manned orbit like Mercury is accomplished prior to an artificial satellite like Explorer, the Lunar missions will not correctly unlock. The new tooltip box will show it as unlocked, but the 2 blue boxes next to the moon on the map will not show available missions, and if you try to go into the project to buy them, it will say prerequisites not met.

Even after you launch Explorer, it will still not unlock.

Hello Briggs,

That's interesting. Do you happen to have a savefile at hand so that I can give it a go here with the debugger?

Hello all,

I have the same problem. I went straight to the Gemini program, skipping Explorer. Now I am stuck on earth, even after finishing the Explorer or the Pegasus missions.

Have a nice day!

P.S.: Save game location "\Users\blabla\AppData\LocalLow\MatrixGames\BASPM" is pretty wild. Why don't you use "\Users\blabla\Saved Games" for the save games? From the sound of it, this would be a nice place.

Briggs nailed the problem. It happened twice with single player (as Americans) and has now occurred for a third time playing multiplayer (as Russians).

Needless to say this kills any forward progress in the game.

Strange that not more people are reporting this; since playing on harder difficulty levels, a race towards manned suborbital prestige is a reasonable option.

Hi,

I have also experienced this at least three times. playing as both Soviets and Americans (in Cold War mode), in both single player and multiplayer.

Although I have completed the prerequisite earth-orbiting programs, and have got the message that success in those has now opened the road for lunar probes/short duration lunar expeditions, I am unable to actually open one of the latter programs. The game tells me that for it to happen, I should accomplish a list of goals, by completing at least one mission configuration of certain programs. The thing is, I have already completed those (as I can also see in my goal completion tab/mission tabs), and yet the game refuses to recognise it for the purpose of actually allowing me to open a lunar program.

In one case I went backwards, completed every single earth-orbit program long after I had received the game's confirmation that I could finally launch lunar programs, and yet still I could not unlock the latter.

This is pretty fundamental, and unless I am totally oblivious to an in-game procedure, really kills the game for me...

Hello guys,

Apologies, seems I missed the post from dergilb with the savefile. I'll check this during the week and get back to you.

Cheers,

Edit: mising "the post" in my sentence.
