Final stand at Acheron

Post by charge62 »

I've been playing through Act 1 of Armageddon and am stuck on the Acheron fight.

I've tried an infantry defense which failed.
I've tried using armor as roadblocks and that failed.
I've tried atritting but not destroying Ork units so the less capable units would be closest to my own defenders.
And I've tried fighting for about 8 turns, then withdrawing to the upper levels which resulted in an automatic defeat.

It almost seems that I am supposed to lose my core force.

Please tell me what I am missing?

I would not want to spoil it for you. Just try to hold at least 1 point of three long enough ( you need to add several more turns to your eight). Without the Hope, there can be no Future...

Thank you. Holding one objective will be the next goal.

Trust me, this mission is a killer and seems really tough. But just fight it out, even if it looks hopeless.

"The Imperial Guard will hold the line!"

The Emperor Protects,
Duncan

P.S. Seriously, the story aspects of this mission are great. Just keep fighting and hold as long as you can.
The Warhammer 40K games all need more T'au Empire units.

Thanks. Completed. Interesting story event.

Lost 2 core units, armor and infantry. Sacrificed a heap of unit experience to keep units in the fight, but was worth it.
