a few tweeks

Great game, really enjoying the challenge as the Japanese. "Just one more turn..." :)

Had a few observations. 1. Japanese tanks do poorly, much more than they should. My strength 10 Tiger would not kill a US M8. The others just do poorly against anything US. 2. Artillery still fires after ground attacks. Same problem with Panzer Korps...artillery should almost always fire first but the AI has not been taught this yet. 3. Minefields should not disappear once discovered, you know they are there, they would be plotted on maps, marked if not cleared, and your side should see them from that point forward...no more surprises.

We should also be able to deploy paratroops by air, land or sea in the setup.

Why can't you land planes on airfields with ADA on them? I also have an M4A3 JUMBO that will not move or upgrade in the Leyte scenario.

Is there information that shows the capacity for carriers or do they all take 3 planes? Also, is there a campaign tree?

Have a look inside the "units.txt" file, search for "CV_" (carriers) or "CVE_" (escort carriers): cargo value defines the number of plane slots. Some CAs also have one (to hold a seaplane).

AFAIK the stock campaigns are linear. Instead of branching, scenarios play differently / have different unit setups depending on certain secondary objectives you did or did not achieve in earlier campaign battles (the green or red pins flying onto the Pacific map will tell you that stuff if you hover the mouse pointer over them).

The Sherman Jumbo needs to have the following entries (among all the others already there) in "units.txt", search for [M4A3E2_Jumbo] (make a backup before editing):

Code: Select all

mp = 3
LOS = 4
cost = 260
supply = 5
attackType = mechanical
defenseType = mechanical
Should have been fixed with the latest patch...

To add to Cortilein's reply, as a rule of thumb all fleet carrier classes can take 3 air units. CVL, CVE and the Japanese Ise BB/Carrier hybrid take less.

If you buy a carrier you'll also see the slots it has for air units in the lower left corner of the UI. In case you wanted a bigger one with more slots: just sell the carrier you bouhgt immediately for a full refund, then buy the bigger class (if available).
