Nasty weapons! SLINGS

Just learned recently SLINGS did not always hurl rocks, but many of the pellets were the size of a finger joint and shaped like a large bean, and often bore a stamped inscription!

The slings had a range of up to a hundred yards, and the metal ones could pierce flesh, like a bullet!
The projectiles were carried in a pouch worn either on the hip, or around the neck.

Even a rock the size of a babies fist would do some damage at how ever many meters per second.
