Epic battles and dificulty level

Post by vaalen »

What is the most historic difficulty setting for an epic battle?

When playing Marathon, I noticed that the Greeks could not get enough citizen hoplite units to match the Persian front, which they were able to do in the real battle, though they had to thin out the center of their line to do it, which is perfectly handled in the battle.

When I reduced the difficulty level, I found that I could purchase enough citizen hoplite units to match the Persian front, and the battle played out in a very historical manner.

Thus, I would like to know what difficulty level gives you the most historical force size.
