It is indeed not always a simple task to port a game to a different platform while retaining all the features in the same form. Handheld development often requires that you rethink and reinvent some of the core UI and control elements, as things are somewhat different with a thumbpad and a 4 inch screen

That would be awesome
if you could do it ian
It would, wouldn't it?
But then, perhaps we shouldn't distract them away from L2?
I'm playing Lemmings on PSP at the moment. Well, I say playing, I mean making levels for. That's a great feature!
Anyway, perhaps they could outsource the PSP porting? I shoudln't think it would be that difficult. But then, what do I know?!

I wouldn't do that myself.
Outsourcing can be a positive thing and a negative thing. Would you like your game/idea destroyed by someone who never saw it the way you did?
Some out-sourced games are good, but the majority of them are plain knock-offs.

There is no true port. If you look at GTA: Liberty Stories, you'll see what I mean. The storyline is decent. the plot is the same as the rest, yes they've added new features such as online play, which the ps2 didn't have, but the gameplay is so much harder.
I thought the controls in GTA-LCS were quite good, but I know what you mean.
The advantage Legion would have is that it's not real-time, so even if the controls were a little more cumbersome it wouldn't be much of an issue. I think it's perfectly suited to dpad control anyway, and you could use the analogue stick to move a cursor (I wouldn't like that, I'd much rather jump from item to item with the dpad, but I expect some people would prefer a cursor, and options are nice).
