Re: Jumbo
Ave Possum
I don't recognise the screen/all units. Is this from an on-line battle (I have only had time to play the AI thus far)? As regards the value of elephants I'm trying them out on my second run through as the Romans - not greatly impressed thus far, I expected them to be far more destructive of heavy infantry in open ground.

LOL
Quintus - it's a screenshot from the scenario editor, that's why you don't recognise it
And you are correct, elephants suck.
The scenario editor is actually not that bad once you get used to it. It has a few little quirks, and one or two major ones, but they all have work-arounds, and you do get used to it eventually.
At this point, I am 35 scenarios into a 41-scenario new celtic campaign, and actually getting fairly practiced with the editor.
One little quirk is that sometimes when you load into the editor a saved scenario which uses some/all of the same units as the last scenario you loaded into the editor, the editor will display the wrong models. This is purely a visual display error, and it's only in the editor. When you go to actually play the scenario, all the correct models are displayed.
I had just loaded and edited a scenario that used some elephants. Then I loaded another scenario using roman units, and the editor displayed that huge elephant where the roman legate should have been.
I thought it was highly amusing, so I did a screen capture and posted it.
Be thankful I was feeling restrained. I was strongly tempted to post it as -
"GIANT ELEPHANT HACK!"
"OMG, I DISCOVERD A SEKRIT HACK WHER3 J00 GET LIKE GIANT ELEPHANTS, AND WHEN THEY MAKE THAT TRUMPETING SOUND, THERES BEAMS SHOOT OUT OF THEIR EYES, LIKE OMG LASERS, PEW! PEW! PEW!"
But I thought about that and decided it might cause Slitherine grief, (you know how rumors get started), so I didn't.
