Re: Any mods that don't include AI spamming units?
Dealing with the AI blobs of 2 arty, 2 AA and 3 AT units is annoying. Easiest way to deal with it is to take advantage of AI behavior. Park an aux. aircraft over the arty at the center of the blob, but don't attack with it. The AI at's will attack it and leave the one or 2 core tac bombers alone tha...

Re: Unit Type Wiki -Unit Strengths and Weakness's
All se units have plus 1 ammo. se infantry have +1 soft attack and se tanks have +1 hard attack. The biggest weakness of all units is being attacked when in the wrong terrain or a river hex. So for infantry the worst thing is to be attacked by a tank when they are defending in open terrain. For all ...

Re: What does rate of fire mean?
First of all, the SIG 33 was a 150mm SIG, (not 155) and not a 150mm field howitzer. The 150mm howitzer was the 15cm sFH 18 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_cm_sFH_18). sFH stands for schwere Feldhaubitze or heavy Field Howitzer. The SIG was an infantry support weapon, the 150mm heavy infantry gun....

Re: What does rate of fire mean?
One more question VPaulus. Taking rate of fire into account the sturmpanzer should be 12.5% more effective against soft or hard targets then the 15 cm towed arty. . SP guns suffer from ammo capacity problems that towed guns don't have. They also have more heat build-up that towed guns, with a resul...

Re: What does rate of fire mean?
Thanks ThvN for answering. Yep I was guilty of the sin of being unobservant. ROF show up. Any arty firing from a river add 4 to the defenders defense!

Re: What does rate of fire mean?
I agree robman. Looks like the 1940 Stug III is the bomb, early on best hard attack arty for the krauts. Plus lots of ammo and good GD and AD, but crummy CD. In PG it came out in Norway but in PC it doesn't come out until sealion.robman wrote:It's high time to include ROF in the main user interface!

One more question VPaulus. Taking rate of fire into account the sturmpanzer should be 12.5% more effective against soft or hard targets then the 15 cm towed arty. But the sturmpanzer doesn't show up as having better results vs the 15 cm towed arty when I cntrl left click to see the predicted results...

Re: What does rate of fire mean?
Thanks VPaulus.
Regarding rate of fire, that was very informative.
Regarding upgrading StuG III;s or StuH 42's to a StuG IV, it's doable if you use the alleqp cheat. Seems a bit odd that you can't do it without cheating.

What does rate of fire mean?
I downloaded the equipment file into a spreadsheet and I see that most arty units have a rate of fire value. What does that mean? Very interesting: Looking at the multipurpose values it looks like the StuG IV and StuH 42 are switchable arty/at units. Also the the SU-122 is a switchable arty/arty uni...

In the campaign they're useless. In PG you could buy the 88 towed in the LC or France scenario? in 1940. That was useful against forts, AA and towed AT's. The 88 AA that can be used in AT mode in PC has such a low defence that it's not as usefull in that role unless the defending unit is totally sup...

If you loved PG, you'll love Panzer Corps. But, if your married, your wife will hate Panzer Corps. I've played CM: Barbarosa to Berlin. I was totally clueless about platoon and company level tactics when I first played it. But, I learned a lot playing it. Especially how to properly place ATs and MGs.

When using a recon to capture cities or airfields move it into the hex then make sure you unselect the recon to capture the city/airfield. Then select the recon again and move it some more. Otherwise you won't capture anything. The SdKfz 232 8Rad makes a great light tank in the early war. Bring 2 in...

if you find one in a forest maybe (hey I'm a stuka :D ) You grab the IS-2 by the nose and then kick him in the rear until he retreats into the woods. The other option is to grab the IS-2 by the nose, leave him with no retreat path and then kick him in the rear till he surrenders. Hey I'm a DD Indir...

Another source of Prestige are airfields. I believe they give you 50 Prestige (same as cities). Victory Hex cities give you 100 Prestige. I always try to take everything on the map in order to maximize Prestige. As Horseman has said, 2000 Prestige should be more like it when you get to Low Countrie...

Your welcome berndN. The game reminds me of a game called rock, paper, scissors. Every unit has strengths and every unit has weaknesses. The point is to mask the collective weaknesses of your core units into a combined arms symphony. In real life, just considering tanks, arty and infantry, The ideal...

Kudos on your decisive victory in the low countries.
Interesting tactics.
Move units to leave no retreat route for the intended target, suppress with arty or strat, Then attack and force surrender.
What will you be buying for France?

At the moment I can say how decent the AI is as I don't understand the game mechanics or better call it the rules. I have played chess and I know that you must know the chess game mechanics too. In chess you first have to learn how to move your units. Then you need to learn how to move and develop ...
