Re: Roll Call - 7/8 April 2018
I'd like to distance myself from this Plymouth-gate scandal. I blame Mr Akers... who entered me (Ooh er missus). I am 250 miles from Plymouth and have no affiliation with PAW whatsoever! I repudiate any claimed Plymouthness, real or implied. I even root for Portsmouth in the Royal Tournament Field G...

Re: Version 3 Errata
Pete Having re-read the offending bullet point for the umpteenth time I am now gobbling down a large portion of humble pie. Reading the bullet point in the context of the preceding sentencd (rather than as a stand alone statement) it now makes perfect sense. In my own defence I did preface my origin...

Re: Version 3 Errata
Pete I think that is indeed probably what it means...but it isn't what it says. It clearly says 1st moves can't start or end closer than 5MU. Put yourself in the place of someone entirely new to FOG. I think you'd struggle to find the right meaning from that sentence. Its always difficult to proofre...

Re: Version 3 Errata
I may be missing something fundamental (and obvious) but try as I might I can't see it. As written the first bullet point under SECOND MOVES on page 73 seems to make it illegal to move closer than 5 MU to battle troops. The relevant sentence says "Neither the 1st or 2nd move can start, end or g...

I have switched (at least for the upcoming Derby Worlds and Warfare) to 28mm Swordpoint.

Re: The future of FOG-AM competitions...
As a long-standing but still ‘casual’ competition gamer, I thought I’d add my two penn’oth into the mix, for what it’s worth. I have been in and around the ancients competition scene since the mid to late 1980s. My main period of activity was up to about 1997 during the heyday of WRG 7th edition, th...

Charging troops who may evade
On p.57 of the v.2 rule book it lists as a restriction on the rule that a charge may begin with a single wheel of up to 90 degrees: "If charging enemy who could evade, the charging battle group cannot wheel beyond the position at which the enemy would be contacted if they did not evade. Excepti...

Re: email accounts hacked ?
More than likely that is the case, Phil. I can't say I know enough about technology to comment intelligently. Its just a heads up that something weird is going on which may or may not affect Kevin and Tom and which they may or may not need to do something about.

email accounts hacked ?
HI all Kevin Johnson and Tom Elsworth - guys you probably already know, but if not... I think your email accounts have been hacked. I have received spam purporting to come from each of you from your iphones. Kevin's email address is given as kevinj@amix21.com and Tom's as t.elsworth@samanthadomingue...

Re: Rollcall feedback
Don Thanks for the well considered response. I shall make a mental note to gee up the laggards I know next year as it would be a real shame to see the 25mm FOG scene fade away completely. With such a small group of competitors there was a really friendly and easy going atmosphere, and with only thre...

Rollcall feedback
Congratulations to the organisers, great event, thanks guys, well done ! I'd like to give some constructive feedback guys...definitely not criticism as I know you have to balance all the eras and rulesets along with the capacity of the venue etc. and it's a thankless job which you do really well. As...

By the way, not being American I see nothing funny about the word beaver. To paraphrase General Melchett, "beaver is not a dirty word, Blackadder!"

To be just as fair, Jon, that's not a wholly convincing argument from m'learned friend. 2014 is implied. I say implied, sir !azrael86 wrote:To be fair he never said which year

Not in my closet. Last time I went in there I found myself stumbling into a snow-filled realm of fauns and talking beavers !

The organisers are going to have to get their skates on, Pete, if the periods are going to be published before Christmas.petedalby wrote:
