Re: which infantry do you prefer (pre-1943)
I think I'm going to invest in a Bridge Pioneer. Certainly there is one scenario where you can avoid heavily defended positions by crossing the river out of sight. Sure sadly you have one effective infantry less but they can mop up or capture all the same. It is an advantage that you don't need any ...

Re: Simple problem with a simple fix....
I'm afraid this is an iPad problem: on PC the save games are listed chronologically.
So I would add "iPad" to your thread title.

Re: decisive victory and prestige
I must say that I also advocate to reward DV more in Prestige or maybe a bonus in XP on the units. Not that I don't understand why people need some help in campaign but you can change difficulty between scenario's. A part of my motivation to perform better is because I get a reward. In the vanilla c...

Re: Luck or the lack of it ...
I personally like the total random mode most: as said before: war isn't chess and all kind of factors come into play. I don't recall crazy odds in specific but it does get's me to laugh or shout out of frustration. It's always funny to see a fighter plane kill two strength if the odds are only 6%. I...

Re: 2 questions for the experts:
Ksasaki, if I'm mistaken your graph simply plots the chance to get a hero if you make X kills if you have Z left to get to max hero? I'm afraid that this graph isn't plotting the whole story as a unit accumelates it's kills it get a chance to gain a hero each time it kills something. So I think the ...

Re: which infantry do you prefer (pre-1943)
Try playing with deducter mod it's more challenging and historical. This is on my bucket list but I'm afraid it will take me a while to finish all campaigns on FM. I do appreciate the Historical aspect of Deducter's mod but after watching his youtubes, I afraid that you have to keep in mind that Pz...

Re: which infantry do you prefer (pre-1943)
Many thanks Koala for your insights. I only just played through GC39 so my experience is rather limited. I can understand your points about the cost to replace infantry but don't you think 4 ammo is rather low for front troops? Or do you use you're para's so aggressively that they need replacements ...

Re: Most hated scenarios
I have limited experience so for me it is Sealion 42. How many times I did restart that one? Last time I tryed I fell 1 turn short of DV. Ok, it was due to bad planning, which made the defence of the most Western city (Bristol?) 2 AA defended by an arty and my towed arty was no way near... I finally...

Re: 2 questions for the experts:
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it sounds like a good idea to Disband any unit that gets a bad hero as first upgrade. Like spotting on arty or infantry or movement on a fighter. You get your prestige back, so can replace it with a green unit and getting the first star isn't that complicated. Als...

Re: Dratz! Did it again... What mistake you keep repeating?
Using my fighters for some recreational strafing to knock one point of a randon unit, but seeing they will also then damage me, and then still press the fire button. Trigger happy and dumb in equal measures. I do that a lot too, it's a bit like my finger is glued to my left mouse button and won't l...

Re: Eventual Scope of 40k IP
Do you consider doing a remake of Final Liberation or Chaos Gate? These were my all time favorite 40K games. Chaos Gate only lacked some kind of free form campaign (like in XCOM or Jagged Alliance), more varied opponents to be perfect. I can only comment on Chaos Gate but just to say how much I lov...

Re: Dratz! Did it again... What mistake you keep repeating?
My error numbber 1: start playing too late and making stupid mistakes because I'm tired. My favorite mistake is to move units up to fast. Without scouting and following the vanilla campaign doctrine: always rush if possible. Last two scenarrio's I lost about 14 strength on Arties and experience too....

Re: Whats the fastest way to gain experience for your units?
In most games like this you will get a bonus for killing units. So this might help too. Otherwise I would think that relative strength is also factored in: how much unsurpressed strength you fight against. So using mass attack to make your unit take less retaliation seems to me like the best options...

Re: Special Heroes: Hans Rudel
I had already difficulties using him in GC 39 because the limited spots in deployment. I do like him to be able to deliver some pain but spotting range 4 is also sweet. He can still lower entrenchment but finishing off units... That is very usefull too now and then.

Re: Shouldn't strategic bombing results be displayed?
Loss of fuel and ammo is also shown, just select or hover on the unit you target. I'm also interested to know if the Strat Bombers also influences enemy reinforments and resuplly differently than other units. I've read somewhere on this forum that they remove the capabillity of unit to resupply if t...

Re: Trains in PanzerCorps
They do have a range. It is 30 hexes. Most of the maps are small. In fact they are smaller than the original PC Thanks for this info. This explains why this doesn't feel right to some players Maybe it should be reduced to 25? If I remember this correct, than fighters can track down a train in 2 tur...

This certainly true but trains should be limited in the total hexes it can move in a turn. Maybe something like 25 or 30 but certainly limited.Egge wrote:Trains are weak and easy to destroy. If you fail to garrison your cities it's your fault really.

Re: why is this game so addictive?
I must agree on you ThoRa and others pointing out the KISS principle. You might think that the limited visuals like unit animations and sounds would not fit in a modern game but I think that they should be minimal in a tactic or strategic game. As you will see those animations hundreds or thousand t...

I haven't started nick names, apart from adding hero values.
But it seems like a good idea to keep track of divisions and to make a clear distinction with auxilary troops.
