Re: Proposal - Rebalance Prestige
ok my tuppence worth prestige cant be fixed in any real way it will never be flexible enough to work for the range of players and levels you will always have some players running out and some having too much. add to these the varying ways you can play this game, if you set the prestige so it is sti...

Re: Critical, Need to Know, Information on modding
The modding system doesn't seem to be catching my rules changes. I can do campaign changes just fine, but this doesn't seem to work. Attached is the mod folder in mods.

Re: Proposal - Rebalance Prestige
The only thing I think the game needs for prestige is something other than auxiliary force as a way to sink it- i'd like to see one-time-use gainable traits, call them "remedial training" or bonuses or whatever, that you pay prestige for. Not out and out heroes, but little things, paying f...

Re: The role of ammo?
There are 2 times ammo has been relevant for me. 1. When encircled, your ammo doesn't resupply every turn, and eventually you run out and can't attack. 2. Limited Ammo helps keep Overrun chaining in check. when encircled you are screwed on suppression anyways, so ammo is just beating a dead horse. ...

Re: The good, the bad, and the ugly
While the new slots create some awkward upgrade points, I think it's a fair bit better than the fixed upgrade slots that say "always maximum upgrade every unit you take"

Re: In SCW, AT support issue?
I am now playing Bilboa and I am noticing it again: My 10.5 cm artillerie is not providing support fire to Nationalist infantry when they are attacked. And yes, they are being attacked by Republican Infantry, not hard target. Perhaps nobody has noticed it before? AT and ART will provide support fir...

Re: Sorry about this, but....
I think the problem with nerfing infantry's advantage in close terrain is that you end up with infantry becoming completely obsolete as armor stats scale up much, much more quickly than infantry does. And in terms of realism, the cavalry would be much better off in terrain than a lot of other kinds ...

Re: Fundimental Balance Change to Capture.
I don't think anyone else is complaining that captured equipment as used by a player is too good- quite the opposite, making it less appealing just makes the problem worse. Most of the advantage in capturing in this game is in the prestige you get from it.

Re: Fundimental Balance Change to Capture.
While i'm not sure I want radical changes, it would be pretty nice to see captured units be more viable. Part of it might be the campaign moving pretty quickly in time which rapidly makes stuff obsolete, but still, actually incorporating captures in the army is pretty rare(aside from the occasional ...

Re: What do Panzer Corps veterans feel about PzC2?
I don't get all this talk about how folks feel the 3D was a mistake and how they wish it stayed 2D. 3D is not bad 'per se'. What is bad is that 2D had more and easier seen informations. With 3D, devs have to let area so we see their beautifull figures, area which is lost for information. Too, as 3D...

Re: What do Panzer Corps veterans feel about PzC2?
I'm old and have a bit of trouble with the angled 3D view. I know lots of people like it. It's just that a top down 2D view is much easier for me. I have thought of a compromise -- in the PzC2 2D view use NATO icons. It would be easier for me to deal with and I would hope not be objectionable to pl...

Re: For what is there captured units?
Okay, nevertheless, I think that if there are captured units, they should have a general use. It makes no sense that we can only view them on the purchase screen. Then the function could have been left out. I found the function in Panzer Corps 1 good that we got a captured unit directly after conqu...

Re: Defensive Scenario & Game Balance
If you want the prestige penalty without the AI combat bonus, you can play 'Europe on a Shoestring' on normal and it comes out very close to the same. The prestige per scenario on Generalissimus is a pittance anyway compared to city bonuses/capture bonuses.

Re: "Auxiliary Force" Trait
You have to buy them anew every scenario, but it's a way to really make use of overstrength units if you have a way to make tons of prestige.

Re: The real reason why Halftracks are a MUST (not +Att)
By all means, please enlighten us then with some examples of other distinct doctrinal differences between the wartime participants, that were reflected strongly in reality, but glossed over in the game. I think it's odd that allied halftracks still cost the slot despite providing far less soft atta...

Re: The real reason why Halftracks are a MUST (not +Att)
LOL Halftracks are the "odd outlier" for a specific reason, and that reason is doctrine and practice as it applies to German halftracks and their historic employment. Again, the same thing applies to every branch of the respective armed forces. It's still the only outlier, no matter how m...

I don't think the PC1 counters did much to distinguish themselves from the map and they often just ended up being gray blobs that are unreadable.

Re: The case for increased core slot costs
I do agree that more granularity in core slot costs would help the game out a lot. It'd also get rid of the free overstrengths for core slot points like 2(one of the reasons the 110 and pz1 are so good in the beginning).
