Re: Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Announced!

Buzz flying over for meeting next month, always an honour, pleasure and thrill to meet with him JDM I briefly met Buzz Aldrin when I was a kid. My family went to Johnson Space Center, and I asked a question at one of the exhibits that my parents couldn't quite answer. Buzz Aldrin happened to be rig...

Re: Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager Announced!

I'm so psyched about this! When I was a kid, I used to play a Space Station game on my Commodore 64. You had to manage a budget, fund specific R&D projects, and staff them with scientists who needed to have the appropriate skills and mesh well personally with their team. And you had to purchase ...

I'd love to see more posts from you, but you can't insert posts in the middle of a thread. Posts are chronological, so the latest one goes at the end. You can reply to certain posts from Ronnie and respond to the bit you've excerpted, however.

Reading through it again, I noticed that Max invented an awesome word that suits him to a tee: offensivate.

This is true, but Finland has restrictions that others do not.

Re: AAR: Diplomaticus vs Morris--Morris welcome!

OK, thinking about it a bit more with the context you've provided, I'll concede the point, especially considering that if someone is counting on Finnish units to save them from defeat from the Western Allies in 1944,they've probably lost anyway. I'm still wondering in a broader sense if it might be ...

Re: AAR: Diplomaticus vs Morris--Morris welcome!

Finland only surrenders if there are too few Axis units in Finland and Finnish cities + rail depots are captured by the Allies. Tallinn (the capital of Estonia and not a rail depot) is also counted. If you read the history of the Finnish surrender you understand why. Tallinn is very close to Helsin...

Re: AAR: Diplomaticus vs Morris--Morris welcome!

This is Germania, a broader term :). AFAIK unlike Russia (Mother Russia), Germany is described as the Fatherland (quick check - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatherland ). I know, I was being silly. And technically, both Deutschland and Vaterland are neuter, since "das Land" is a neuter no...

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock

I think if morris have some real defence, there would be no reason to hide it. So actual defence supposed to be pathetic, if it is so secret. That's a bit harsh. I've seen on the board time and time again where someone like supermax would selectively show screencaps to hide surprises for his oppone...

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock

Maybe Morris is using the term D-Day in the more generic sense, unconnected with Operation Overlord.

Re: Italy surrender

There's a saying in English, "If the shoe fits, wear it." It means that if you feel the criticism is directed towards you and it's applicable, you should take it seriously. Implied is also that if you don't think the criticism is warranted by your actions, even if it's directed at you, the...

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock

In Max's defense, there are lots of people here who aren't the best spellers or typers. I have to bite my tongue every time I see "Lybia" in the forums here, as the proper English spelling is "Libya." I wouldn't take offense (or offence either!) if people occasionally mistype you...

Right. And if you would like to keep supermax from commenting on your AAR, you should post NO SUPERMAX in the title.

Re: We need to fix this in 2.2: transports of iron!

And consider this: What if somebody had invented 'kamikazee' transports. After all, fireships were used in the Napoleonic era, turning ordinary merchant ships into deadly torches directed at Men of War. So, in our alternate reality, when you see transports blocking warships, maybe they're packed to...
