Just finished first four scenarios. It was fun. Thanks bebro for you hard work !

My comment below. If you already know those issues just ignore rest of this post:

The only major problem for me was : where are the airfields ? Does the whole strip is airfield or only tower ? No idea here...

I have notice three minor problems:
- in Tulagi map, I have conquered "Tulagi Harbour" and wanted to embark Marines to sea transport. The unit changed to sea transport but I was only able to deembark (no sea travel was possible).
- in Henderson Field when saving I see "IDS_LABEL_DESCRIPTION_OPTIONAL" in the save dialog
- sea tiles got annoying repeatable pattern - the rest of the graphics is also repeatable but not such annoying as sea IMO

Thanks a lot for your feedback :)

You're right with the sea tiles, but it's more or less an issue of time - I simply gave all other graphics priority.

I have to look into the naval transport issue, I thought I had enabled enough transports so I have to check what went wrong.

I'm not sure about the save issue - could be it is related to the most recent patch when they introduced those labels for scenarios (IIRC they were not in before). It should have no negative effect however.

Edit: oh and to the airfield, usually only the tile with the tower (and flag) works fully as airfied - you can repair there only, but also refuel. Tiles next to the tower can refuel like normal. I'll see to make this more clear for the next version.

Japan Imperial Army deserves red markers IMO:

Thanks for you reply. I was thinking that whole airfield strip worked as airfield at the beginning.

There is one more graphical bug. +- steps to reproduce:
- find place with junge (might be airfield region of last map)
- press tab
- move view to other part of the map
- press tab again
- press tab again
You will notice that some part of graphics will change
- press tab -no change
- press tab -no change
You need to move to different place after first tab press.

The red marker would look sweet bebro and help to disttuinguish between the IJA/IJN and the Allies later on in the war.

Just a thought.....
....that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.......and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.

Thanks for reporting, I hadn't time to check this, but will do so asap. I did a lot of terrain changes for the next version, with some luck this is already solved (need to test though)...

Re the red markers - good idea. We had already a discussion earlier which markers would be best, and I made some alternative gfx. Including another version in red should be no problem, so people can choose what they like best.

My black (USMC) and red (IJA) are markers here. You can use them as you wish.

People can grab this right away, anyone who wants to use it just needs to copy it ito he "..Graphics\Overlays" folder of the USMC mod

I'll include this also in the next version.

As a general note, I'll take part I offline in a couple of days, since v 0.9 will arrive in ca. a week as things go now.

Re the sea transport issue in the Tulagi scn - this shouldn't happen in v0.9 anymore, at least I have it working now.

There remain some things to iron out, but hopefully they're done until sunday, when I hope to have this version out.

Instead of another gfx preview, some more infos from the customized library...

1. USMC upgrade families:
Image

Inf has basically an upgrade path for the "normal" guys, and for the specops like raiders, paramarines, scout snipers. Raiders and paras will be deactivated at some point in 1944 (so no purchase then), when those got incorporated into other units. Also, as it was historically paramarines did not much airborne ops during the Pacific war, but I gave the option to make paradrops in two scenarios. Scout Snipers come in as later alternative to raiders.

With the fighters you have to decide - go Hellcats or Corsairs, or try to have both? You can upgrade your Wildcats earlier using the cheaper Hellcat upgrade, but the Corsair ends up as the best fighter in its latest version, albeit later.

2. And a look into the updated credits, thanks to everyone who helped! :)

I have encountered this in my Italian Campaign 2.0 too. The descriptions of the the scenarios of the Vanila campaign have the same text too. Something in one of the htm's has to be changed, but it makes no kind of problem in the gameplay, or in the savings.

The update tree in the Library section is a very good idea! I had also this, but I had not yet the time to learn, how to do it, plus create it.

I could write a little "how to edit the library" guide next week. To get additional pages I mainly copied existing library files, renamed them, then added my content in a editor. Finall you have to link to it in the main library page.

BTW, got your mail, but I need a couple of days before I can start to deal with those gfx :)

It would be sure useful to every campaign maker!
I could edit the campaign path in the library, but that was not a hard task.

Part I: Guadalcanal 1942-43

Description:

This is the first part consisting of four scenarios of a historical campaign covering the USMC’s role in the Pacific War from 1942 onwards. It’s been created under PzC 1.05, and is single-player only. It's designed and tested esp. for play in the 3rd difficulty level (here renamed Lt.Colonel), but of course you can choose whatever you prefer.

They were probably removed because those were just a preview. The final version will be release very soon. Maybe today or tomorrow.
Stay tuned.

(The following has also been edited into the OP)

Eagle, Globe and Anchor: USMC Campaign for Panzer Corps v0.9
1942-45

Description:

This version v0.9 of a historical campaign covering the USMC’s role in the Pacific War 1942-45. It’s been created under PzC 1.05, and is single-player only. It's designed and tested esp. for play in the 3rd difficulty level (here renamed Lt.Colonel), but of course you can choose whatever you prefer.

V0.9 includes now the full main campaign of 14 scenarios, lots of new units incl. custom graphics, and many sounds and anims provided by VPaulus, who did an awesome job in this regard. To indicate that this comes with all his material I named to folders USMC Redux...

Downloads:

Mar 25, 2012

GME files: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21466420 ... ux_GME_zip (ca. 140MB)
Scenario files: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21466424 ... mpaign_zip (only ca. 200KB)

Alternative Downloads:

- switched colors for unit str plates: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21188173/USMC_altgfx.zip
- red colors for Japanese unit str plates (thanks Wino): http://wino.babilon24.org/pics/strplates.png

These are optional in case you don't like the str plates coming with this mod. Copy one the alternative file you like to the "..Graphics\Overlays" folder of this mod to use it.

Installation:

This release is not compatible to the first release version (v0.5). If you have this version installed it is strongly recommended to install the new version separately, not just "over" the older version. V 0.5 is not supported anymore and can be removed.

This campaign needs GME. If you never used it, please see here how to download and set it up:
viewtopic.php?t=27158

There is now a split installation needed for this mod

Basically the GME files belong into GME's MODS folder, which is usually in the main folder of your Panzer Corps installation, unless you specified another location. The scenario files belong into your ../My Games folder under Panzer Corps/mods/

Instead of a long explanation, the following pic should illustrate the correct locations:
Image

To play, activate the USMC mod via GME. If you use a localized version of PzC it is best to switch to the English language to play. Start the campaign via PzC’s main menu > new game > more campaigns > select the USMC campaign.

Infos about changes, unit traits, campain path, special features, credits and more are available in the customized in-game library, and I highly recommend to consult it to understand key concepts, fundamental changes etc., etc.. :)

Credits and Thanks:

I want to thank esp. nikivdd, El_Condoro, and VPaulus for all the help regarding PzC modding or the editor.

The custom graphics for the 'shallow sea' terrain were made with the help of rezaf. I also use one of the Opel units from rezaf's and flak's unit skin mod as Japanese truck. Graphics for medals and the data files for awards are made by El_Condoro. As noted, VPaulus has also done a terrific job in adapting his Real Sound Mod for use with the USMC campaign.

Furthermore I also want to give credit to a 3d creator named robotnik for providing a the basic 3d model of the US M3 AT gun, and to Radoye from JP’s who helped me getting Japanese terms right.

*****

So that's it for now. Have fun :)

Thx ;)

Oh, and just to add: there are a number of things I did not made in the end, like extra black sand terrain for Iwo Jima or editing those Navy fighters, for now I just wanted to get this out. As always any feedback is welcome.
