I personally feel that Slitherine have made a rod for their own backs and have placed themselves in somewhat of a tricky predicament. If they release the digital version now I strongly suspect that very few copies of it will be purchased. The overwealming number of replies here and elsewhere indicate players want a physical copy, a small number are interested in the digital version. So people are naturally going to wait to see what kind of printable version there is going to be. If they release the digital version and it does not achieve a viable sales target that may well have a direct impact on a printed version, Sliterine just may not be able to afford to put out a printed copy. It may look as being sensible to releasing the digital version along with a version that is either printable or even a printed rule book, but then you have the dilemma of will players bother buying the digital version if there is a printable version?philqw78 wrote:Can't you put out the digital version before the print version? Most people's, or was it just my, problem was not getting a print version at all.
I am also sure that Sliterine are acutely aware that if they do make a digital version that allows you to print off a copy of the rules they run the risk that some players will club together to buy just one copy of the digital version between them, print off a copy and then distribute copies of that copy to all and sundry.
Its a conunderum and no mistake.
