I remember there was also a modder quite some time ago who did a Storch from a free 3d model IIRC but I dunno if it's available anymore...
Yeah, apparently not one but plenty of versions are already available :)

Do you mind if I ask what aircraft you had in mind for your own mods? I won`t be taking any answer as a promise and, of course, I understand there will be some time before anything might materialize.

Probably some easy to make versions of planes I already did, but for other countries - like the Yug 109, Yug Hurricane, Greek and Belgian Fairey Battle in their own paint schemes etc. Since the addition of TP categories I'm also playing with the idea to release a TP minipack with stuff I made for the cams I did so far plus some additions.

If that list were to reach fruition it would be awesome. I don`t know if you`ve made a Curtiss P-36 for any of your projects, but if you have, maybe you would consider adding a french H75 too. During 1940 it had a great contribution for France and I think it has a role to fill in game as, historically, the D.520 was not available in great numbers early on.
Since the addition of TP categories I'm also playing with the idea to release a TP minipack with stuff I made for the cams I did so far plus some additions.
That would definitely make things more interesting. I just wish the number of transport categories was bigger. Or alternatively, that the air transports were dependent on each faction (of one of the two sides). Otherwise one would need to spend a trait for each faction for each transport category so that in multi nations scenarios things don`t get mixed up (as it happens in 1945 Germany in the original game).

I'll see what I can do about it. As I mentioned in my thread, I maxed out on my 3DS Max trial and will have to try some other program for that.
Cheers

Yeah the air TP thing is strange when you play several nations and everyone boards planes of the "lead" nation.

For land TP I can get along with the existing no. of categories - I usually do not define a category per TP model, but per TP "heavyness" so I use something like "lighttruck" or so for every nation, but of course each can only access their own model(s) of light trucks.

Installing the "Unit Factory"

Post by sandeja1 »

I hope I am asking this question in the right place. Was suggested to me in "tech support" that I ask it here.

After fiddling around with my "original" install and not getting it to work I un-installed and deleted all the directories/files for Panzer Corps and did a fresh installation that has been patched to version 1.22.

I have only the one mod "installed" right now: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps\MODS\PzC_unitfactory_air"

Under this directory I have: "Data", "Graphics" and "UI" (I created these myself) and then moved the files included with "PzC_unitfactory_air" into the appropriate directories.

Just to make sure that the "PzC_unitfactory_air" replicates the original structure I copied the entire folder contents of the original "Data", "Graphics" and "UI" folders to the new ones under "MODS"

I copied "equipment.pzeqb" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps\MODS\PzC_unitfactory_air\Data" (couldn't find a file called "equipment.pzq"

I copied "efx.pzdat" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps\MODS\PzC_unitfactory_air\Graphics"

I enabled the mod in JGSME but the new units don't show up in the campaign (yet). I would like to use some of the other mods as well but am not very confident that I can get them to work either.

Can you explain/help me figure out what I am doing wrong please?????

The equipment file should be named "equipment.pzeqp".
I hope that's it. If not I don't know what to tell you.

Hi sandeja1, which version of Panzer Corps do you have? I may supply you with a modded file then that should work with those aircraft.

It is patched to version 1.22, I have the "Grand Campaign '39" and Allied Corps as well.

Please don't make extra work for yourself on my account! I am sure I am doing something wrong. Am going to try some of the other mods also

Well, I wanted to provide an updated equipment file for those aircraft anyway, so it wouldn't be extra work :)

However, it might take me until the weekend, since for the next 3-4 days I'm kinda occupied with real life stuff ;)

I don't know how others did it. But, I created a mod file named PzC_unitfactory_air, then under that directory I first created I Graphics folder containing the downloaded units folder, and secondly created a UI folder that contained the downloaded bigunuts folder.

I then went through and renamed all the downloaded units in both folders with their names that were used in the delivered PzC Units and bigunits.

I then selected PzC_unitfactory_air from the GME selected list.

I am playing DLC 39' with these changes and the mod by deductor and I cann see the new units.

I wish the PzC_unitfactory_air mod came with the names they should have been to agree with the delivered PzC games, but oh well.... I am having fun.

Thanks for the idea! I was thinking of renaming the files myself (after backing up the originals) myself too

- Updated airmod to PzC version 1.22, replaces all aircraft for vanilla PzC, Allied Corps, partially for Afrika Korps
- Included modded PzC equipment file and efx file

Download
http://www.mediafire.com/download/w2fwb ... d_1_22.zip (ca. 10MB)

Installation

It's recommended to use as GME Mod:
- After unzipping, put the resulting folder "PzC_airmod_1_22" into GME's MODS folder of your PzC installation
- activate the mod, start a campaign or scenario. All vanilla planes should be replaced now.
- this way does not need backups of original files as nothing gets overwritten
- to deinstall the mod, just deactivate it in GME, and remove the folder "PzC_airmod_1_22" again

Alternatively you can install manually by moving all unit gfx into the correct subfolders of your PzC installation.
- you also need copy the modded equipment and efx files, backup the original before
- this way is more recommended for users/modders that are familiar with PzC's file/folder structure
- it also would require a manual removal of costum files if you wish to deinstall the mod

(same added to OP)

sandeja1, I'd recommend to you to try this update. It includes equipment and efx files, for use with my custom gfx (using my naming pattern).

I did activate it with vanilla PzC tested it wih some vanilla scenarios and it seemed to work well. I can't fully promise it replaces all in AK/AC as I have none of those installed atm so can't test. If anyone uses this mod and runs into a prob pls. post here so I can fix it.

The mod is made to be max. compatible with vanilla 1.22/1.23 (IIRC they are identical unit-wise) and addons. I only put in replacements for units in use there - so none of the additional "goodie" aircraft I made from time to time. These need still to be added by modding.

Does this pack include any new graphics from what has already been released?

Not yet, still to come. Hopefully a can do a couple of the re-textured ones next weekend.
However, part of the efx stuff of this update stems from the help you posted a while ago, so kudos to you for those :)
