Battle of Montlhery 1465

Post by stockwellpete »

This is an interesting Franco-Burgundian clash that occurs just before the major military reforms take place. Opponents of the French king, Louis XI have formed a League of Public Weal and the two armies clash near Paris in July 1465 . . .

Historical rule; the French contingent on the left, led by Charles, Count of Maine, will not join the battle in the first five turns. It may join from turn 6 onwards provided French break points are equal to an even number between 2 and 20 at the start of any French turn. If French break points go past 20 and the Count of Maine's contingent has still not joined the battle then they will take no part in it at all (as happened in real life). Should the Count of Maine's contingent be attacked before it has joined the battle, or if any of its units "anarchy charge" approaching enemy soldiers before it has joined the battle, then the whole contingent may immediately join in the fray.
